The Path to Paradise,

Thanks for your post and perspective. Your post reminded me of, perhaps, the best memory of the time I spent as an active participant as client of escorts from 2000-2017 which were my so called peak years. In the summer of 2004 I met an agency escort at the then Hyatt at the Complex Desjardins, which I think is now a Doubletree. Anyway, met her for what I recall was a 2 hour date. We got along well. At the end of the date, she was not leaving my room. It was strange to me. I then asked her if she had some other bookings. She told me she did not. She was very cool about it and continued conversation with me, showing no signs of wanting to leave. I believe I had booked her for a 4-6 pm time slot. As 6:30 p.m. rolled around and she was still in my room, I was getting really hungry. So I asked her, "hey, I am hungry, want to get dinner?" And she said yes. We ended up spending another 4-5 hours together, walked all over the city, and finally had a late dinner at some Italian restaurant on rue de la Montagne, which I cannot remember the name of and is no longer there, anyway. It was a truly wonderful evening and spending it with her was worth to me way more than the 2 hours I paid her for. I did end up seeing her again, once or twice, but then she vanished from the business and disappeared. Was one of the better experiences I ever had with an escort from the social if not sexual standpoint.
2004 seems like a much different time. This would be around the era that a I dated this woman I am talking about in my earlier comment. Maybe she was lying, but even though she had such a rough time, the conditions seemed a little different. She didn't have to see as many clients in a row and ''GFE'' wasn't as much of a thing back then its seems. One thing that was hard for her was that she was expected to look and act like everyone else. She told me all of the girls were blonde and skinny and under 30, she eventually bleached and straightened her beautiful curly red hair because her boss told her she looked messy. Her agency refused to hire her friend who was very normal, because she wasn't thin enough. Over the years, more than one SP told me they felt pressured by clients to hang out with them after bookings or talk to them all the time. It was not so obvious to me at first but I realized after talking about many women who are in this industry and have been before, that I am paying for their time. What I understood was that for these girls working for agencies, it will be more advantageous to see clients outside in order to be better paid or maybe get a sugar daddy or two. They don't know how to work outside of the agency perhaps. There is one indy who hung out with me at the park to share some drinks after a 3 hour date last summer. It was a really cool moment and I hope she didn't feel like she had to do that to keep seeing me, but we have an awesome connection so I think it was sincere. Most indies in general have been generous with their time when they could, but I understand that this can come at a cost for them.

what I love the most about meeting escorts is getting to know a beautiful woman and having a good time with her without the responsibility and possible heartache of a relationship
It makes me think that the difficulty in maintaining close intimate relationship, either as a cause or consequence of long term involvement in the sex industry (clients and providers alike), would be an interesting topic for discussion. That would be for another thread, or a Master's thesis.

Hey you are misunderstanding what I said, man. I would not say that escorts have difficulty with relationships. On the contrary, a lot of the women I've met this way were quite empathetic and had put a lot of emphasis on their friendships, some worked with their best friend. It's naive to think these beautiful girls don't have partners, a lot of them actually do. I also made the choice to see escorts instead of dating again for a while. When this 7 year relationship of mine ended I saw SP for a few years but I have had other girlfriends since. In between relationships I'd just rather see SP until I feel ready to date. I even saw a SP with a woman I was dating a few years ago, we were in an open relationship at the time. (her choice) The way I see some men write about escorts on this site and on this thread, I doubt they have much success with women at all, no offense, but that's not everyone.

I dunno about that. Bad clients got banned. Sam blocked many of them. Very judgemental.

XO was great till the last year when drugs ruined it for how the agency was being managed. I remember two reviews in 2024 where it was reported that the girl was under the influence. XO went down in 2024.

Apart from the under aged girl, was the law broken because the agency supplied a premises to do business.
Under current law:
What Agencies do is illegal.
What clients do is illegal.
What Companies that accept advertising do is illegal.
What the providers do isn’t.

The complaints from the neighbours is one of the real reasons that they got busted. Obviously there’s the serious stuff, like the minor that was working there, girls forced to do orgies, drugs, horrible working conditions, etc.

But I witnessed firsthand an issue with a neighbour. I was going to see an SP that I was seeing semi-regularly and I noticed the woman was standing in the corridor when I was walking to the apartment. I told the SP about it and she said something like: “don’t worry about it. She’s been asking me quite a few times why there are so many different girls that use this apartment.” WTF !?!
This should have been a WARNING sign!!

Apparently, she told the neighbour that they were college students and couldn’t afford the expensive rent, so there’s about four girls sharing an apartment. That made no sense. How can 4 ladies be living in a studio??

I don’t know if she flagged it to one of the owners or not. If it was me, I would have stopped using that unit. Move elsewhere and continue operations. If you’ve got a nosey neighbour asking questions, it’s time to move on.

In fact, if I remember correctly, they were occupying four units in that one building. So once you get a nosey neighbour on your case, she’ll tell other neighbours and then all of a sudden they catch on.

If you have a bunch of guys coming in and out those buildings every day, and different girls coming in and out, it’s not long before the neighbours catch on.

That’s greed on the owners part to continue using those units despite neighbours catching on about what was going on.

And guess what happened a few months later? I think it was in the spring time of 2023, they were renting out hotel rooms downtown and hosting from there for a couple of months. Obviously the neighbours found out, filed a complaint and they were forced to leave those units, and they eventually set up shop elsewhere. But then all the other stuff caught up with them, LE was on it and they eventually got busted.

So bad mgmt and greed caught up with them, besides obviously all the other immoral stuff that they did.
Absolutely true.
It was so blatant with guys standing out in the cold texting for the code/room.

It just shows at the end of the day, management was only interested in $$$. I'm renting X number of condos, how much $$$ can I forecast getting out them (the condos) per week/per month etc. Since cancellations cause me money, I'm just going "manage this risk" to the financial forecast by offloading it to the girl in the form of a penalty. That is a crazy business model.

I don't know when the focus really became hardcore $$$ but when XO first started 10 years ago, my ATFs from that time had positive things to say. I just forwarded article to an XO girl who was on roster in 2017 and she replied she didn't experience that.
Was with someone a few years who called a well known manager/booker there in front of me at the end of our rdv. She told me that “she” was great and took good care of her. The “she” moved on to . . .

The client having 15 minutes less and the SP having only 15 minutes to cleanup everything.

I don't see the good in that.
An hour with a therapist is 50 minutes.
They only review/write notes.
They don’t have to change sheets, clean up & make themselves beautiful.
At least with an Outcall, there’s a physical & mental break in between.

What’s good about it? 15 min break between clients and seeing 7-8 clients per day??

They’re not machines. How can they provide a consistently good service under these conditions ?

If the agency owners truly cared about the girls, they give them at least 30 minutes between clients, and make them see max 4-5 clients per day. It would reduce their overall profits, but it’d be better for the girls, the clients and everybody involved.

Unfortunately, it’s a bloodthirsty, money making operation, so most don’t care too much about the girls (I won’t generalize).

My 2 cents.
As some are probably aware, 2 woman took their own lives in the last few years. There were condolences on here.
Understand peoples lives are complicated and this can’t be blamed on one thing.

I don't know about your examples and am not prepared to say she was lying about those things. One thing that raised a flag for me, though, was when she said she had never seen a nice/good client. She was there for a year. Only awful people booked her? It seems very implausible, if not impossible. So, she is either telling the truth, exaggerating, or has that whole period of life labeled as bad, which could be understandable.

But it stood out to me, because it seemed to imply that most (or all) people who booked with XO were abusers or bad people who didn't care about how the women felt. I doubt any SP here would say that everyone they have encountered has been bad.

This is not to minimize her story or how she felt, but it's just to say how I felt listening to it from the other side of the fe

That still doesn't answer my question.. Why do you think you are using women by paying them? If a woman puts up an escort ad, with her limits and boundaries, and you as a client book her, treat her very well and respect her. Why is this using her?

Can you explain in your own words why you wouldn't want your children to do sex work, even with respectable clients? Suppose one of your children did sex work, but she had never experienced any coercion or abuse, and everyone around her was very supportive. Why wouldn't you want her to do it?
Catholic guilt.

I wonder what happened to the original poster. They dropped a bomb and fled the scene, never to be seen or heard from again.

The thread has become nothing more than a vehicle for the cast of characters on Merb to vent their rage and point fingers at one another. Entertainment at its finest and very informative about the character of many Merbites.

I am confident the original poster is sitting back with some popcorn and beer and enjoying the spectacle this thread has become.
It’s a psychology experiment.
You can read the analysis next month in Psychology Today

Hey EB, do you recall JuliesNYC back in the day? That agency got busted in early 2005. Julie Moya raked in millions, but the DA trumped up charges of her employing a 17 year old. The real story is the girl used fake ID, and when Julie found out, they jettisoned her. The underage may have worked a month or so. And that 17 year old was introduced to Julie by one of her girls, swearing she was 19.

I always found the girls there to be on the older side, 26+, some early 30s, so I was amused when I read the DA charging her with employing underage escorts. I was paranoid because I was a regular and never suspected the agency would employ anyone underage. But competing agencies helped bring her down, and apparently Julie stopped greasing some LE who helped her stay open for years and years.

The only clients arrested were those present during the bust. And Julie had like five locations around the city. Julie’s was best deal in town, Montreal quality and more for 250.

I have no doubt XO management are scum bags and I’m sure many allegations are true. But it’s also possible a lot of stuff is really embellished to help prosecute the case. These are heinous allegations, but let’s step back and assume many are true, many aren’t. Regardless, human depravity like what I’m reading never ceases to amaze me.

LE isn’t going after XO clients unless those clients saw an underage girl. That I’m fairly certain of, unless I’m missing something.

Everyone predicted other agencies in NYC would falll after Julie’s got busted. The opposite happened. So many opened to fill the gap.

One final amusing point which I heard from a Julie’s escort at the time whom I saw on the side post-bust. When it became evident a close friend and relative of one of the prosecutors was a regular at Julie’s, of course the sweet plea bargain came into play, with Julie agreeing never to reveal a “client list.”

Every case is different, but my guess is you’ll never see an XO client list unless prosecutors have a mark on a high profile person (eg Elliot Spitzer).

Google Julie Moya. Fascinating read. She did a bit of time…and of course she re-opened under a different brand a couple years later.

What is the maximum penalty for these specific charges? There are no charges laid for rape, abuse, use of minors etc.
Trump will pardon them.

Tell me again after you see my invoices and receipts and the thousands in GST/QST I send the government every quarter. And don’t start me on taxes installments every quarter. Tell me again then that I don’t know what I am talking about.

I am speaking on my behalf even though you are quoting Luna.

It’s time client stop thinking escorts can’t do maths and that we’re above taxes.
You are unique.
A 100% cash business that declares 100% of their income defies gravity.

Why does LE want clients to stop seeing escorts? Like, why now, unless I missed an announcement? And that would mean Independents would be at risk nearly as much as agencies, as LE could watch clients entering even a residence.

I think we’ve all jumped the shark here. Back to regularly scheduled programming. Be safe. Have fun. There’s not a sex cop around every corner waiting with cuffs.
Easier & more efficient to target an Agency with 50 people working out of a dozen apartments in a few buildings with thousands of clients than surveille ~50 apartments of Indys who are not breaking the law as it stands.
Agencies are technically breaking the law, will get no sympathy & LE gets more bang for the loonie and a flashy headline, especially if there’s a minor age issue.
A few years ago the consensus was these busts happened every few years off island before elections. Something has changed as this underage incident was years back.

I think Le knows. A lot more then we think they do.
We might be crafty, but they're not dumb.
A police investigator once told me:
Kid, you wanna go on that path? Understand that as a criminal; you will always need to be lucky. As a cop; I'll only need to be lucky once!

They keep the structures that are in place because it keeps the peace.
Because you don't want to create a vacuum with random new commers that might be worst then their predecessors.
It's the same with drugs and some other illegal activities...
You stick to what is in place and most likely kicks you a couple bucks to look the other way.
It is not a line of work that will go away. It has been around before you and I, and will be in place after you and I have long gone.
If you start scaring everyone, you drive the business underground and make it even harder for Le to keep an eye on.
You put Sw back at risks of even more abuses. That defeats the very purpose of the law format that is in place, and the progress that has been made over the years.

Let's not forget; Xo went from #1 agency to not even posting on merb in a short span of time.
What happened? Let your imagination run wild. Greed?
It started a backline of chatter back to LE.
Underage girls and abuses we're mentioned.
Media got involved.
Someone put pressure.
LE pulled the plug.

A new one will rise and the cycle continues.
I am curious of what will come from the trial. My guess is: Dried up ink somewhere on page twenty eight of an old news paper, floatting in the wind.

But did it keep underage from getting involved? Yes!
Did it Highlights abuses, thus helping present Sw? Yes!
Is it all pink, sunshine and rainbows? No!
But it serves as a reminder, and it makes us talk... A lot.

It's like a Leo Tolstoy novel.
i did subject myself to something pretty grueling ha. this subject is personal to me, it touches on many things ive witnessed in my life. ive never admitted to anyone other than a few people that i hired SP from agencies after i saw the path my ex girlfriend went down on. there was a lot of violence, abuse, alcoholism etc in my family. an incident happened to my younger sister and she was never believed by anyone, she was a mess for a few years. ive seen this happen to many women friends of mine. there are exceptions to this rule but after everything i saw i say- believe and respect women. its not because these women are escorts that they deserve to be poorly treated. one of my good friends used to be a stripper in 2010, we had long conversations about the industry. she knows i see escorts, doesn't judge me, but we had a long talk. the SP i see share what they want to share but i want our dates to be fun and not an interrogatory

of course the cops know and probably monitor this forum, its mildly funny (in a depressing way) that some of y'all are so afraid of the cops coming after you. after 2018 i never used agencies again and it wasn't very hard to find the right girls for me, i dont look at every single ad, i haven't read reviews in years because some of my favorite providers barely have any or they dont accept them. there's a delusional and hysterical aspect to how some men here are defending the agencies and attacking the girls who are participating. its like you're watching a toddler having a lollipop being taken away from him
merbists bringing up taxes is the cherry on top of the shit sundae- it screams i was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. desperate attempt to discredit SP. i know not all women of this industry are angels, but have some respect
