Not with someone I know of ! Don’t go to risky places! It’s no Sweden or Australia sorry!

Wow, that's a lot of exclamation points. You haven't been there at all, and I've been there about 25 times. I'm sorry, but I'm taking my own advice over yours on this subject. You should investigate a little more fully. Colombia, especially in the urban environments, is perfectly safe to visit. Normal common sense precautions should be observed anywhere you travel, but even to a certain extent at home if you're out in clubs (minding your drinks, for example) or avoiding some areas at night.

The thing is someone I know of never came back from there!
Yeah but what do you know about it? For example do you know if that person was doing something they shouldn't have been doing and/or in a place they shouldn't have been? If you don't know or will not share the particulars your cryptic posts are a waste of bandwidth. I know someone who took 25 plus trips to Colombia and came back alive and healthy after every one. Reason why is he used common sense on where he stayed, what he did and who he saw. He never had any safety issues and I know that if he did, he wouldn't have gone back.

A buddy of mine loved Columbia so much that he decided to move there two years ago & has been trying to coax me to go join him in Medellin. It took him about a year to be fluent in spanish & would hire guides (usually beautiful young women) whenever he’d go out touring across Columbia or in Venezuela & Brazil. It helps being fluent in spanish & being with other people in public. He told me that being Caucasian puts a big target on you since locals will always try to rip-off unsuspecting tourists. He says the key is to avoid the troublesome neighborhoods especially at night & if not always be with locals who can act as bodyguards. He says the women in these three countries are incredible!

By the way this isn’t that much different than our own cities who also have their own dangerous neighborhoods that tourists are unaware of & usually avoid. I remember being in Miami once & took a wrong turn & good thing i met a friendly local who warned me to get the hell out of that neighborhood pronto! Lol

I never liked him he was always showing off and never grew up! saying things like, “no one sleeps around like me!” Im sure it was because of a woman he met online or a bad business deal!
Are you telling me that all of that hysteria was about someone you didn't like, didn't know well, and about whom you have no particulars for his visit? Quote: "Im sure it was because of a woman he met online or a bad business deal!"" Unquote. You mean you're guessing without knowing anything about it? How could you possibly base an opinion and a decision with respect to travel on that? I don't get it..

Yes, exactly. There's areas that you can walk around freely and all the tourists do in Medellin, like Poblado, and sections of downtown to avoid at night (or navigate entirely by taxi) but which are fine daytime, and local areas where it's no issue for anyone who likes to stay with the locals, like I do, in Laureles (which the girls prefer, but which you need spanish for). Medellin has a large expat community, and locals also recognize who lives there and who is comfortable in the environment and who is an obvious and often obnoxious tourist. The latter get targeted and the former much less so. The assholes walking around in shorts, sandals and hawaiin shirts deserve whatever they get, IMHO. And yes, Miami is weird, with sometimes totally unrecognizable borders that delineate dangerous and less dangerous areas. lol

My situation is somewhat unique because that time in Miami i made the wrong turn two nights in a row! The second night my lady friend & I were out driving on our way to dinner. But we had some time to kill before our scheduled reservation so i decided to go do some sight-seeing & she said ‘sure as long as you don’t fucking get us lost in the middle of a Miami ghetto again!” I chucked & said of course not! Then a few minutes later my friend realized that we were back to where we had ended up again the previous night & screamed “Oh no we’re back in the same ghetto as last night again! Get us the fuck out of here now!” Suddenly i felt trapped in some ‘Judgement Night’ movie deja vu scenario again! By the way this happened way back before GPS were invented so it wasn’t that hard to get lost in a strange place. A similar scenario happened again a few years later in the Buffalo area while returning to Canada after attending a Buffalo Bills game on a Monday night. I seem to have a knack to take wrong turns & end up in the middle of rough neighborhoods! Lol

They're beautiful and they're young. On top of these already excellent qualifications they will also sometimes work with you as guides. What else could you possible need to know? :D

Hehe
Are you implying that the SP will be your tour guide? Otherwise it would be a big tease to have the beautiful young guide without more.
Or do you have the guide take you to brothels? Now I’m having flash backs to bad soft core French films on late night TV

Actually, in all seriousness both of those things are true. If the girls know they will be with you for the evening then they're quite happy to go out and do the town with you, and they love going to strip joints. Some of the MPs will also sell you beers and you can all sit down and chat but they won't let you bring your outside girl in to session with their girls. As for being tour guides lots of them will do that for nothing provided you pay for drinks and food etc, provided they know they will be with you in the evening too. They won't say no to any gifts you want to bestow on them too. The one caveat to this is that they won't do it just cuz. They have to like your company and you as a person to be friendly guides. Fully paid guides is a different story, but I never do that because there's no reason to typically.

Im sorry but personally no matter what you guys would tell me, no money in this world would get me in South America..

Even travelling to the US i would do it but i wouldn't feel totally safe considering the number of guns there is there.

This is why i am very sensitive when peoples criticize Canada. It may not be perfect, but thats still the best(safest) place to live overall. The difference is in Canada/Quebec if you ain't tie into the criminal underworld, chances to be involved in criminal stuff is super small. In Mexico or such... you could be taken by the cartels for extorsion... does not matter to them. In Quebec there may be some gangs and the bikers, but they are in small numbers, police is usually doing their job, unlike Mexico where smarter cops are under the cartels because...well they wanna live and care for their familly. And Quebec Bikers do not care about you unless you do something to them.

Basically my point is Quebec is safe... overall. South America is not.

But back to OG subject, i read fast a bit but if someone sugest mini-GT this summer or something, we could expend on that...

Once again, there are lots of places that are safe, and just as safe as Quebec, but if it's not for you then it's not for you. At the end of the day you have to do what you're comfortable with and what makes you happy. If that means never leaving Quebec then that's what you should do, and you'll get no judgment from me.

From all the exclamation points and the excitement I can tell you live in a much more dangerous world than I do. I think I'd be afraid to go to the supermarket in your world. There's vicious gangs and criminals everywhere! I had no idea that back in the day strippers were so dangerous. :)
