My list will be a bit different than most peoples i feel

Hellfest (2018)

Its a slasher. Its not the most violent or scary or anything, but the Halloween theme is so damn great. All the attractions in the park are top notch, the costumes etc. Such a fun movie overall to watch on Halloween.

Black Christmas (2006)

I love the color palette, the cinematography, some of the kills are pretty nice and the cast is 2000s goodness.

Cabin in the Woods (2012)

Very original in its concept. I don't want to say too much otherwise it would ruin the fun. You have to experience it by yourself

Wrong Turn The Foundation (2021)

While i love the original Wrong Turn (sequels got into cheap slasher territories tough) with Eliza Dushku and Emmanuelle Chriqui as a good slasher, this version is very different, almost sharing only the name. But there is something SO disturbing in that movie that left me thinking about it for so long.

Bride of Chucky (2018)

Its my favorite Chucky movie, and yes its because its full on late 90s goodness with alternate rock, looks, and i love the dynamic with Tiffany.

Darkness Falls (2003)

Even tough i was an adult, this movie kinda left me with a bad feeling when i closed the light in my room to go to sleep lol. Its really playing on "whats in the dark". Its been a while since i watched it to be honest but absolutely loved it then.

Friday the 13th (2010)

Yeah its my favorite Friday. And yes the fact it has one of the best nude scene in a movie ever really help (don't believe me? There is litterally a subreddit dedicated to it lol). Joke aside i really enjoyed this reboot. Its brutal, its Jason, it just work.

Terrifier (2018)

I love Art the clown ! The first one is so good because its so simple yet disturbing. I love that it all happen in a creepy building late on Halloween night. I think the sequel tried to do too much and had too much of a long runtime, even if there was some great stuff in it too. The third one is really cool as well (ah the chainsaw...lol).

Night of the Demon 2 (1994)

I really enjoyed that one. Its funny because the third one is the one i saw as a kid because my parents rented it, so it left a mark on me, and i later found it on DVD so i watched it often, but upon watching the second one, i really liked it even more. The 2009 reboot is also one i really like and watched many time. But i think the sequel is my fav anyway.

I could probably add a few more but its already a big list. Yeah im mostly into Slashers. I like Vampire flicks too but they often not that horror like Underworld for instance. Most "slow burn" movies ain't really my thing. For instance Get Out bored me so badly...

I watched Obsession this year and its really good, but i wouldn't put it into my "absolute favs". I have yet to see many recent ones who got good reviews like The Substance or Sinners or Backrooms.

I run an "Halloween Marathon" from mid September to Mid November tough, it include horror of various genre but also "familly friendly Halloween movies", stuff like Hubby Halloween for instance is included as it fit the theme. I added pics of the ones i did from 2020 to 2024 (still need to do the graph for 2025 lol). I only include movies i never saw before (at the moment, altough i may do an exeption or 2 next year as i really want to rewatch some stuff, but i need to get trough the backlog)

I never saw that and never will. They say it's possibly the most disturbing movie ever made. I know a friend who saw it who was sickened bordering on PTSD it for weeks after watching it and this is someone who's normally not scared of anything
A lady friend (yes not kidding) had me watching it and i absolutely HATED it. Its in my list of top 5 most hated movies ever.

Its just gross and disgusting.

While i said Wrong Turn The Foundation is in my list, lets just say the message is different. Its disturbing yes but ...ahhh don't want to spoil either.

Martyr to me is just a mysoginist wet dream... F this crap.

Hellraiser.

I really wish that Lament Configuration box exists in real life. Would take one and show up at a Trump rally and just solve it right there and run the hell out of there after opening. Or a NYU graduation full of Gallatin School graduates.

I watched the japanese movie Audition two days ago, a slow burn that turns into something lynchian and oniric, with the gory horror in the last part of the movie. It was insanely good.

Lynch is a revelation, actually. A powerful force, cinematically and culturally. I will now check out Audition, as I am a lover of all Japanese cinema, in general.
