The first goal was to defang Iran, i.e. to destroy its capability for uranium enrichment and military build up. This goal has been largely achieved. Iran’s military industries are in tetters. Iran also lost its ability to proper support its proxies. Without land corridor, sea blockade, destruction of the transport aviation, and financial strangulation it can’t provide any material support. As for the Ormuz strait, its closure harts China and Europe and benefits USA. It is not an accident that US took Venezuela’s oil first before moving against Iran. I start to believe that US keeps Ormuz closed on purpose.

Exactly, he want to keep the strait closed indefinetely because it benefit USA. Nothing to do with IRAN nuclear threat.

Remember that Trump in his first term has thrown away the arrangement put in place by Obama with European leaders that insurred inspections of the Uranium program in Iran.
