Lmao the US literally unsanctioned Irans oil to alleviate the oil shortage. now Iran closed the streit of Hormuz and levies a toll on most countries. theyre making more $ from selling oil than they were before the war.

This war is being carried out by incompetent buffoons
Have a bit more patience. The war is only a bit more than a month old. Even a chicken without head can run around for a while.

What to do? Prevent Iran from exporting any oil and the regime will be cooked. Iran is not a self-sufficient country
So far their oil is still available, and Russia is making a lot of money selling and helping them with weapons, the biggest losers are the americans $$$$!

Thats exactly the opposite of what the U.S. did. they are currently selling more oil than they used to before.

Also, they have a larger car industry than the UK and Russia. They had a pharmaceutical industry before the US bombed it.

Theyre not goatherders with AKs..theyre more self sufficient than you think. They produced hypersonic missiles and modern FPV drones before the US did.

Looks like these 2 will be deported back to Iran very soon. The hypocrisy is really amazing to me. There are a lot of people who do need to be deported quickly.
Why would I be deported back to Iran? For educating people about the history of the region beyond what Fox News akd CNN tells you?

Deport Tucker Carlson and Darryl Cooper too then; they say the exact same things.

I was referring to the 2 women in the article that CR posted, which preceded my post. They are being deported back to Iran.

Most Iranian cars are adopted Kia and Peugeot old designs and have many imported parts. They are of subpar quality in comparison to western standards and can’t not be exported. As for hypersonic missiles, North Korea has that and more, but it is not a developed country. Iranians are not kind of people that can be brainwashed to live under the North Korean type of dictatorship. If the government would be unable to provide some minimal standards of leaving and freedoms it will be buried in no time.

The iranian diaspora population in the West do not represent general iranian sentiment
Of course not, if you judge Iranian sentiments only by what is allowed to say and write inside the country under duress from Islamist authorities and religious fanatics. This is precisely why thousands were killed by the Islamist authorities last January.

It's a Jihadist Theocracy. This is a problem not just in Iran but throughout the Middle East, where you have no true separation of Mosque and State. There is never going to be any real progress until that changes. And that change really does need to come from within Iran, with rebellion and grass roots democratic movements. For that to happen the right people have to gain control of the military.

Good points, Eager. However, depending on what is meant by "military," the hope that "the right people...gain control of the military" is probably not going to help. To me it looks like the real power power in Iran now rests with the IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps), not the traditional military or the mullahs.

The IRGC somewhat resembles the SS and Wehrmacht SS of Nazi Germany. It operates within the framework of what looks like a traditional government and military, but it is more like a huge mafia with its own army, navy and air force. It also controls almost all of the most profitable parts of the Iranian economy. It has scores of thousands of personnel in its military, political and economic structure.

It is the chief source of much of the trouble caused by Iran's proxies-Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis. As the mullahs and and the traditional military have been battered, the IRGC has gained even more power. Despite the fact that Israel and the U.S. have killed many IRGC leaders, their underlings have stepped forward to take their place. IRGC members are the most committed people in Iran to fighting "the great Satan" and the they have the most to lose if Iran is forced to make peace. Like the SS in Nazi Germany, they are the most willing to fight to the death to preserve their power and wealth. But who knows, maybe there are a few sane leaders among the current leadership of the IRGC and they could decide to make a deal with Trump.

I'm sorry to disappoint all the pessimists here who were hoping that Trump would nuke Iran, the IRGC and its proverbial "2,500 year old civilization" so that there would be an excuse to get rid of Trump, but the Donald just announced a ceasefire.

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday evening that the U.S. had reached a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran ahead of a looming deadline, averting what the president previously described as an attack that would lead to the death of a “whole civilization.”

“The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate.”

Trump — who said the ceasefire was subject to Iran opening the Strait of Hormuz — added that “almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran,” but he said the two-week ceasefire period “will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated.”

Now that it looks like the straights of Hormuz will be safe again, we must also assure safety for the Gays of Hormuz. I heard Trump's people are working on it.
