Unions are no good. They are a money making business and protect a lot of bad employees. I see it often, employees that should be fired but it makes it very hard for the company to get rid of due to the union. Employees keep on doing bad things or infractions and are still on the job. Plus I seen employees get arrogant because of the union. Unions increase costs. But... 3000 jobs were lost because of workers trying to unionize.

This is about the only issue I agree with you and a few others on. It was a great day when Reagon fired all the controllers. Unions were needed for abused and underpaid factory workers or in the 19th century but not today.

I have a client who owns a large IT firm that works with one of the major auto companies. He told me when he delivers computers to the floor of an assembly plant, he has to wait maybe for hours for someone from the Electrical Union to .....plug it in...... He has seen the vast rooms union folks sit around in idle until they need a computer plug to plug in, just as an example.

Years ago, he had contracts in Russia and described how the negative US attitude gradually grew over the years from the very friendly Russians with whom he had interacted.
