Former President Donald Trump has opted to wait out Hurricane Ian from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, which will now affect his deposition scheduled for Friday in a class-action lawsuit.

Trump was scheduled to be questioned in a case accusing him, his children, and the Trump Organization of fraud and deception at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Friday, Insider reported.

However, according to letters filed in court Wednesday by the lawyers suing Trump, the former president refused to move his deposition elsewhere even with Hurricane Ian approaching the peninsula, CNN reported.

Trump closed his message by saying: "U.S. Jews have to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel - Before it is too late!"

Trump did not explain what he meant by the phrase "too late," but many interpreted it as a warning.

"If that’s not an antisemitic threat, I don’t know what to call it," tweeted Laurence Tribe, law professor emeritus at Harvard.

Political commentator David Rothkopf likened Trump to a "mob boss" seeking to "shake down" Jewish donors – or else.

Former Vice President Mike Pence suggested Wednesday he might not vote for Donald Trump if his ex-boss were to run for president in 2024. When Pence was questioned about the issue at a Georgetown University event, he gave a long pause. "Well, there might be somebody else I'd prefer more," he said.

Trump has not formally announced a presidential bid for 2024, but he has strongly hinted he might run. Pence is also considering a run, according to several of his confidants. Pence had a falling out with the former president after a pro-Trump mob attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump had repeatedly criticized Pence for refusing to use his ceremonial role in presiding over the electoral count to overturn Joe Biden's 2020 win.

Fired up by Trump's attacks, rioters chanted "Hang Mike Pence" as they rampaged through the Capitol wielding flagpoles and other weapons. Pence and congressional leaders had to be whisked to safety before resuming the certification once the building was secured.
