SABA strength is her power while JABEUR is strong in all aspects of the game.

JABEUR just won against SABA. She should win easily the final against Voudrousova.

Agree....la finesses l'a emporté sur la puissance...JABEUR went through RYBAKINA and SABALEKA....so she will b the favorite and should do it for her first major win......pas la finale attendue..lolll...mais représentatif du tennis féminin ...much more fluid que le
tennis/masculin.

I was very surprised by VONDROUSOVA win. Her ranking was 42 and she was far from favorite in the finale.
I admit I didn't know her well and didn't watch much of her games in the Tournament.

Not the more fascinating FINALE....VONDROU played ok tennis....rien de spectaculaire....not sure we will hear from her in the future..BUT it was her moment vs une adversaire qui a tout laissé fller today......et qui aura bcp de difficulté à s'en remettre.

Should b something else tomorrow...

Yes No 1 vs No 2.
I have never been a big fan of DJOKO.
First it was his endless of the time before each serve, bouncing the ball more than 10 times on the court.
While Federer did it 3 and sometime 4 time.
His refusal to take the Covid vaccine.

Watching the Alcaraz-Djokovic match and I have noticed something about Alcaraz's game that is very similar to John McEnroe's. It is something McEnroe was known for and set him apart as unique in his time. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I am not sure if McEnroe mentioned it- he is actually commentating on the match.

Alcaraz just won a 1 hour and 25 minute second set tiebreak with a great return! He had to have have it and he did! Will his conditioning in the later sets hold up better against Djoker than his embarrassing fade against Djoker at the French Open?????? We will see..............

Djoker's body language at end of 3rd set was very, very bad. This is not the first time in his life he has been down 2 sets to 1, but he looks frustrated with the wind and with Alcaraz. Time to suck it up and play on if you are Djoker.

We now have a 5th set in this epic matchup of the old veteran champion vs. the young up and coming multi title contender. It's been an overall pretty even and great match as expected.

To answer my own question- Alcaraz has a really high ball toss on his serve. It's not as high as McEnroe's was- I couldn't understand how McEnroe was able to hit his "sky toss", but it worked for him. McEnroe was known for the high ball toss and the impeccable and varied placements of his serves, both of which confused and unnerved opponents. Alcaraz I think actually serves harder than McEnroe did, but his ball toss is really high.

Alcaraz also has a terrific slice drop volley shot, which he has used with devastating effect in this match.

Alcaraz is a very talented young player. This is not even his best surface, and even Djoker congratulated him on how rapidly he had adapted his game to grass. I saw shots and volleys from him that reminded me of a couple of past Wimbledon champions: Boris Becker and Stefan Edberg. Those guys could really volley. The slice volley drop shot Alcaraz used, which he repeatedly hit for winners (missing one barely in the final set and then coming back and hitting another one) kept Djokovic off balance. Djoker could not play as deep as he would have liked. All the multiple past champions at Wimbledon were good volleyers. Alcaraz is quickly becoming an all court player unlike his countryman, Nadal. who was more of a clay court specialist.

Accomplishments today by Alcaraz:
- wins first Wimbledon in 3rd longest championship match in WImbledon history (longest is Djoker-Nadal, 4 hours 57 minutes in 2019)
- hands Djoker first loss at Wimbledon since 2017
- 3rd youngest player to win Wimbledon after Becker (at ages 17 and 18) and Borg (age 20)
- more breaks of serve of Djoker in the first 3 sets than in the prior 103 service games by Djoker at Wimbledon
- 2nd youngest player to beat Djoker in a Major (Nadal was youngest)
- first player in over a year to beat Djoker in a tiebreaker (Nadal, 2022 French Open, was last)
- thwarts possible calendar Grand Slam by Djoker, not done since Rod Laver in 1969
