WOW....earthquake in Paris....MEDVEDEV out / first round....lost to a young BRESILIAN qui en était seulement à son 2ème match d'un Grand Slam.......will remember this day all his life....and MEDVEDEV too...lolllll

I heard that Medvedev wasn't feeling well as was Auger-Alliasim yesterday.
Bianca Andreescu came back from a bad first set to win against Azarenca.

IGA...wow...2 bagels 6-0, 6-0 vs WONG...rarely seen that in such a big tournament /3th round ....in a league of her own....lollll
Yeah- the twin bagels is something you almost NEVER see after the 2nd round of a major. Very rare indeed and speaks to Wang's inability to handle Iga's legendary topspin. If you have not seen or played her (not sure if Wang ever played her before) it can be very, very difficult to hit such a heavy ball which feels like a bowling ball hitting your racket with the topspin she puts on it. When I use to play ping pong in tournaments the players I hated playing the most were the ones with the heavy topspin. Some of them you can adjust to, but some of them have the talent to vary the amount of topspin on their returns from heavy to massive when needed, and result is the ball just explodes uncontrollably off your racket for an error. Some players like that drove me bananas. A couple would also use the "spaghetti rackets" that are designed to grip and enhance spin (such rackets were outlawed in professional tennis in the 1970s but are used by some players in low level ping pong).

Was reading that IGA (6-4, 6-2 over Gauff) is the first woman to make the semifinals at the French Open having lost less than 15 games since Conchita Martinez in 1995. That's a long time. The double bagel match against Wang certainly helped keep the games lost down. But she seems to be in top form and is going to be tough to beat. Although the opponent in the semifinals, at 6'1", 172 pounds, is a true Amazonian woman, which is fitting since she is Brazilian (see pic in post below)

Meanwhile her opponent IGA stopped in to visit and root for Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat who seek a 2-1 lead in the NBA finals tonight:

Exact for IGA, she spent very few hours on the court and didn't lose a set.

IGA est un phénomène exceptionnel...elle a gagné 60 de ses 73 matchs disputés en GRAND SLAM depuis le début de sa carrière...nous rappelle SERENA....and more to come from her.

Vraiment dommage...not the game expected....first 2 sets were exciting with spectacular plays by both players...MAIS tout c'est gàché à compter du 3ème set avec ALCARAZ souffrant de crampes et vraiment diminué....so easy win for DJOKO 6-1, 6-1...now on his way
for his historic 23ème grand titre...will play RUUD Sunday,,,and shpuld do it.

Tomorrow IGA/MUCHOVA.....no surprise there..lolllll.
