Mister Steers got a tasty burger. Is not all grey in the middle... and due to the fire source, it's got a smoky flame broiled taste.

I love food and also have a loooong list with all type of different food (and so many i d like to try …)
I would mention Vin mon lapin and Montreal Plaza as two great food experience.
Yokato for the atmosphere and the great ramen.
Gemma, Alea, Stella for the pizzas
Not a restaurant but roasted Chinese duck at epicerie Lam Kee is so far the best i found in chinatown before Char siu located further on st Laurent closed

For roasted Chinese duck (actually Cantonese) you can try Délicieux Mei Mei in DT or in CDN Dak Hing Barbecue.
If you can go farther you can try the roasted meats from the Asian supermarket Marché Ocean Plus.

Recommendations from a canto guy :D

Any recommendations where one can have a truly delicious tajine and cous cous?
I am not sure what type of couscous you are looking because each African country that has it has its own twist.

I tried one recently at La Khaïma Cuisine Nomade

Generous portion and can refill if needed.
If you are a big group they will serve a huge plate that you can share. Menu is very simple only 3 types or garnish for the couscous: vegetables, date beef and olive chicken.

Pricing is also straightforward with a starter (pea soup or hummus and pita) and a hibiscus drink.

I've really only ever tried Moroccan and Algerian, think it was resto Maison lahlou. Really enjoyed that one.

La Khaïma looks cool, will check it out

seems to be some sandwich focused places popping up lately.... the other is mexican taco places.

for sandwich, i'm talking about renzos on the main, two italian places that make the same focaccia based sandwiches, and ila cheese steaks. so ila is college crowd friendly as it's across the street-ish from that artcteryx store.

ila got created trying to transplant philly cheesesteak sandwiches. you can find them on IG w/ their back stort btw.

well i'm not saying this is a 'best place to eat where' but something new.

Menu consists of sandwich only or sandwich w/ fries & drink for $19.50

I ordered a 'Tehran' style: whic is philly beef steak, secret sauce, melted provolone, weMayo, tomato, hot peppers, lettuce.

and a "holy moly'.. which is supposed to be a philly cheese steak, mixed with half provolone/half cheddar, sauteed onions, herb may sauce, fresh prsley & onio

in both cases, barely any onions, barely any cheese. bread is very decent here, has some chew to it... but didnt get the seasame seeds their profile pics had.

The Tehran got a smiley and name by the maker... i could not pick up any spice however.

The design of the place misses out on a big opportunity to showcase the cooking like those philly places do, it's in the back. sigh.

I use to go to Pavillon Nampic in the Chinatown but it’s now closed.

Dumplings and General Tao chicken was very good.

Any recommendations ?

can someone recommend a deep dish pizza place?

Never heard of a pizza place in Montreal known for Chicago-style deep dish. But very similar and very impressive, I ended up a few times here https://brigadepizza.com
They make an amazing Detroit-style pizza. I think it qualifies as deep dish, not really sure to be honest ;)

I am a fan of Neapolitan-style pizza, like Pizza900 or Botega. But my favorite 'heavy' pizza is by far the extra sauce pizza at Marconi on Beaubien!

Elio Pizzeria Ristorante

Personally speaking its possibly the best pizza I’ve ever had not only in the Mtl area but anywhere else! It’s located on Bellechasse in the Rosemont-Petite Patrie area. Their website is: eliopizzeria.ca

Highly recommended!
