But I hate to think like that. I’ve met so many men that were serious, respectful and cared without needing to ask for deposit.
To me it’s more: minimum amount of emails = seriousness
After 10 emails I assume you are a time waster and starts losing my smile
Yeah I know ... As we say: un mal nécessaire but I always feel appreciative when I feel trusted and the ymmv that follows

Well, I don't always ask one. We can always decide as we go! That's the beauty of it.
Deposits aren't there to determine if the guy is serious. The guy is serious, and he's going to see somebody. The deposit is in order to ensure that the guy is serious, and will be locked into, the deposit taker, and will stop looking around at other girls. It's just to discourage window shopping and to save SPs time. The benefit to deposits rests entirely with the SP, which is fine, as far as it goes, from the extreme SP point of view. From the extreme guy point of view only suckers pay deposits, since it accrues no benefit to them whatsoever. Perhaps there is an art and diplomacy in it for some people as a compromise in the middle. Most people seem to be extremists though. lol
I guess I'm in the middle because it doesn't bother me either way. I've paid some deposits and decided against some too. Am I gonna send one to an unknown with little/no reviews? Probably not. Am I going to forgo seeing a dreamgirl on my TDL for a nominal one? Also no.
I think that how the deposit is handle (now, the exact amount, anonymous info) tell's more about me as a customer than the deposit itself.
When a deposit is mention in the screening process, I will write that I'm ready to send the deposit in my introduction (1 complete message). However, I only contact reputable ladies with great reviews.
