Might depend on the quality of the rubber as well. Suffice it to say, I make sure there's a few drops on the little soldier before he puts his helmet on ever since I once got so irritated that I needed ointment.

It can great dry hombre, lol. I now blame the condom itself, but I now apply the "a stitch in time saves nine" protocol.
I have never done that and never had any complaints. I don’t feel like it’s a great idea, the condom will slip off and that’s the last thing I want

I'm not sure to understand the situation here.
Isn't it the condom supposed to fit nicely or tightly around? And the lube from it or from external application help the movement and the sensation is coming from the outside friction not the inside friction?
But from your description you're talking about irritation? Just by wearing it?
My first thought. Only way to know is that he wear a latex suit to see if he has irritations!
