Money up front, or at the end?

I guess im a great host as the last sp took it at the end and did not even want to count it
Actually, I am always pleasantly surprised when the SP doesn't ask for payment upfront (even at a 1st visit), shows that she trusts me and feels less transactional. Now, it has happened that I almost left forgetting to pay but she gently reminded me. One time I was even down the hall when I realized I hadn't paid her (and she didn't either, lol) and returned to do so. Now that really felt like a GF experience.
I've only had an agency lady ask for it upfront once, after I told her it was the first time using the agency. Fair enough!
They never asked me up-front and I always leave it at the end on the kitchen counter just before hopping in the shower (I only do incalls).
Same for me. Upon arrival, I always put it on desk wrapped within a paper with some kind words on it.
I do that because I can forget to give it prior leaving. I just hate when SP has to remind me there is something missing…
My experience varies, but predominantly pay at the end and tip according to agreed extras.

The business of envelopes and passive transaction is alien to me, have done once and felt very odd to me. Refuse to do it that way now

Some of this is a fig leaf around the legal status— "donation", "for time/companionship only", "roses", all of it meant to vaguely obscure that at the core, it's the purchase of a sexual experience.
In my experience SPs also vary in their comfort level with the brass tacks of it. Some almost get off on it being a transaction, like aww yeah baby pay me money to fuck me, ain't that pussy worth every penny? While others would prefer to still feel that it's something of a date, like we're make-believing as a couple who have actual history, etc etc.
I always put it on the corner of the table as soon as I enter the room before going to shower .
I had a funny experience on my last encounter, the SP didn’t notice me leaving the cash upon arrival and prior to exiting the door she asked : didn’t you forget something ? And I said no. She instantly turned extremely livid , I had to apologize for the misunderstanding.
But this confirms that a lot of SP here are used to be paid only at the end of the session.

Always at the beginning. Why risk making the other person uneasy and have less of a good time?
I honestly prefer being ripped off than doing this with someone who doesn't want to. I chose the people I meet carefully.

Tip and you don’t even know if it’s going to be a good service! They usually want it later!

You will need to pay anyway, good or bad services you pay if she try to scam you, you will end up paying anyway that mean somebody is there with her for protection.

Having only “No repeat” clients is not good for business of a good SP… It can be due to a bad chemical or her having a bad day if you have done everything right (etiquette).
I usually do proper homework before and if I’m not satisfied, I don’t do drama because I know I will pay only once.
