I played a lot of baseball. It was my sport. I played competitively up until I was 19. I'm certainly no expert. This launch angle information seems a little overdone. I don't think guys swing any different. I think what's changed is the attitude. Guys are willing to strike out a lot more. So it used to be that you would swing more aggressively until you had 2 strikes. then guys would just try to protect the plate and put the ball in play. I understand that that is not the strategy these days. They swing the third time just as big and hard as the first two. Consequently, HRs are up and so are strikeouts. Part of it is the philosophy of hitting.
