I love how “Canadians” seem to have all the spare time in the world to rant and rave about a political party that is not even in their country.
Why not focus a little on the drama teacher who is spending your money like a drunken sailor.
Really sad when Canadians need to open half a dozen threads and rave for now over 5 years about the same crap continuously and on an escort review board no less. Seems pussy isn’t that interesting anymore.
Ironically it is the same small group of 6-7 posters maintaining their life long ambition I guess of bashing a party south of the border.
Actually kind of sad that this amount of time and energy is wasted on posting the same stuff day after day.
By now we all get it lol Democrats = Heroes Republicans = Traitors

Looks like spineless, useless, unprincipled treason supporter and subpoena refuser Kevin McCarthy has finally achieved his lifelong goal of becoming Speaker. He had to give up all the power of the office so even though he's just beginning, he's already a lame duck. To FINALLY get enough votes after failing the first 13 or 14 times (more than anyone since the Civil War) all he had to do was humiliate himself and sell out his country. He'll go down in history as one of the biggest jokes and scummiest politicians since America began. And by the way, the sickening Republican Party has now had control of the House for four days and all they've managed to do is get this unprincipled, slimy weasel put into the Speaker's chair while the nation watched the circus with disgust and embarrassment. Trump's idol Putin must have loved the show.

..il a permis dans ses négos QU'UN SEUL REPRÉSENTANT puisse défier son autorité et demander un vote de confiance.....believe me it will happen very soon......McCarthy n'a absolument aucune marge de manoeuvre.....il est déjà dans la gueule du loup qui va le
dévorer......ne sait pas dans quelle tourmente il s'est embarqué........il la voulait la job......so...enjoy the moment.....lolllll.

One of the conditions of the MAGAs to support McCarthy was to refuse to extend the debt ceiling. That would guarantee a default of the US government.
Republicans are against extending the debt limit except when a republican is president. Extending the debt limit does not authorize new spending. Rather, it allows Treasury to borrow to pay for expenses already incurred. If the country cannot pay its financial obligations, it will default and create chaos in the economy, in the markets, and with retirees collecting Social Security retirement benefits. The solution is to have a balanced budget by increasing revenues and/or decreasing spending. The problem is Republicans have, and would continue to, give tax cuts to the rich and to corporations further decreasing revenues and try to cut spending on things like Medicare and Social Security instead of on the obscene defense budget.

1. I'm still posting about Canadian pussy when I get it (and I intend to get it soon)

2. One of the incredible strengths of MERB is that you don't have to post about only pussy. Despite women being my favorite thing in the world, it turns out there are other things in the world besides women and sex. That's the purpose of the threads in here.

3. There is an old saying involving Canadian and American economies that goes, "When the US sneezes, Canada catches a cold." Well turns out that the saying also applies to politics. The US and Canada are so inextricably linked that our poisonous politics is also negatively influencing Canada. Hell, Brazil just had unrest that looked eerily similar to our January 6, unrest that was borne from the same election fraud fabrications. But sticking with how US politics is also influencing Canadian politics, let's see:

-the trucker convoy protest

-QAnon crazies who wanted to arrest the Peterborough police back in August 2022

-Danielle Smith not understanding federalism with her Alberta Sovereignty Within a United Canada Act (but wants to eat her cake and have it too by crying that the federal government isn't funding Albertan health care reform, a situation laughably similar to the red states that bash the federal government when a Democratic president is in office but cozy up for federal money when a Hurricane Sandy or Hurricane Ian happens)

-the lobbying arm of the NRA, (NRA-ILA) a US group, weighing in on Trudeau's Bill C-21

-how the NRA has influenced guns rights in Canada and how Canadian gun lobbying groups have had the NRA's assistance in the recent past

So like it or not, what happens here in US politics affects Canada too.

Thank you for the Incredible enlightenment.
Who would have thought that our largest export and trading partner with a population of over 350 mil right next door would have influence over us and the fact that it has the number one economy and is the worlds leading super power.
That was not my point, my point was that a select few for 5 years now have been doing nothing but bashing one particular party south of the border on multiple threads and have very little to say about their own mis managed government.
One in particular is doing nothing but trolling these political threads and is completely obsessed by them.

I agree with you except both Republicans and especially Democrats want to keep on spending taxpayers money. They got no interest to balance the budget. Time for government to keep its spending in check.

This is funny, sorry to burst your bubble but the Democrats also give tax cuts to the rich and corporations. The previous Democrat government did this and so is the current one. Only difference is Democrats are hypocrites.

The fundamental problem with our system of government is this: every Congressman- Republican and Democrat - is re-elected (or not) based on how much federal money and jobs they bring back into their district. For example, in Kevin McCarthy's district, the economy is farming and oil and he is expected by these constituencies to bring federal money back to them for the farming and oil industries. Years ago, Republican Alaska Senator Ted Stevens brought federal billions back to his district for the so called "Bridge To Nowhere", which is often cited as the greatest example of wasteful spending in US Congressional history. These are the things all Congressman are expected to do- lobby for federal funds for projects and jobs in their district. When the money materializes the constituents are happy, but when the money goes to other districts for worthier projects, the constituents are pissed off, complain about federal spending and vote their congressman out of office.

I have seen the same phenomenon happen with the government of my own condominium complex. My condo complex has one association for two different wings, which were different phases of construction. One wing of about 60 condos was built in the 1990s and the other, where I live, was built in the 2000s. I will call them Old Wing and New Wing. When a special assessment was levied in the amount of around $500 for new roofs on the units in the Old Wing, a radicalized group of my neighbors in the New Wing came to me and asked me to join in their rebellion. They said to me, "fuck this special assessment! Let the owners of the Old Wing pay this and not us!" So I said, "how about in 20 years when we all need new roofs? Do you want that expense borne only by us, or shared by everyone in the complex?"

This is what comes down to: "tax money should come to us, and forget about everyone else." Never forget that all Congressman are simply financial tools for bringing money back into their districts from Uncle Sam. If no money comes in, then they are soon out of a job, and they all know it.

I'm not sure what you are referring to but I know what bubble you live in. When did Dems give tax cuts to the rich and corporations? Tax cuts to the rich and corporations are a Republican core policy - trickle down economics is a failed and flawed Republican economic principle. Perhaps you can educate us. During the Obama administration - because of the fiscal crisis and recovery - there were tax cuts for the middle class, working families, and small businesses.

Wait a minute. This is a thread on the Republican party, isn't it? If not here then where can members opine about the GOP? I refuse to believe you are against free speech, so that can't be it. Puzzling. Nevertheless, feel free to memorialize all the good you see in today's MAGA Republicans. Likewise, you can use the existing thread on the Democratic party to tell us about all their evils and failures.

Again you are missing the point.
I don’t think the Republican Party has any less scumbags than the Democratic Party, and I am certainly not against free speech. If you ever read some of my posts you would have realized that I despise politicians from all parties and believe they are the lowest life form of society.
Let me repeat my point, it is very simple, we have 5-6 threads ongoing for 5 years now fuelled by a small group of individuals who seem to enjoy patting themselves on the back with who posts the more convincing and best derogatory information about the same party.
These same individuals seem to care little about the politics in their own country and how an equivalent scumbag is mismanaging and spending their hard owned money.
Now I will let you guys get on with your Republican bashing as these threads are turning into a comedy.
