Tonight President Zelinski will speak before the Congress.
It appears that some Republican leaders (Kevin McCarthy, at least) won't be present.
Why, they probably would have preferred that Putin would give a speach before the Congress.
John Bolton told this week that if Trump would have been reelected, Putin would have been in Kyev at the end of last February.

Actually quite the opposite. Republicans want nothing to do starting WW3. The idiots on the left keep sending weapons to the Ukraine thinking that there will be no consequences. Why is it that the USA has to pick up the bill all the time and be criticized by the cheap pussy countries that won’t put their money where their mouths are? The reason for the war in Ukraine has a lot to do with the lack of leadership and respect that Biden projects. A strong leader for the US would have prevented all this in the first place. I don’t expect you to understand the way the world works, but all of this is on the pussy leaders, Canada included. Zelinski coming to the USA while abandoning his country when they need him the most is all you need to know. Let Truedumb throw a couple of billion dollars there way instead.

The America First movement aka MAGA movement aka trumpism is sadly alive and kicking and represents a majority of today's Republican party but a minority of Americans.

A strong American leader, a Ukrainian leader leaving his country during a war, and Canada kicking in a few bucks was what I had commented on. Your desire to troll me along with always twisting comments to fit your anti Trump/hate America agenda is your problem, not mine.

Not trolling just respectfully expressing my opinion to your opinions. Your words speak for themselves as do mine. While we may disagree on our worldviews, let's agree to our mutual right of free speech.

But what you commented on had nothing to do with my post to someone else. Hence the trolling.

I disagree. My response had everything to do with your post. Not a point by point rebuttal (although I'm willing to have that debate) rather a big picture assessment of what's behind your opinions. Did I get that wrong? Do tell. And I wrote it without calling anyone an idiot, dumb, or a pussy. There's little to be achieved by using invectives in an argument.

At least we can agree to disagree then. You say your comments had everything to do with my post but there’s nothing that says that. Yes, I think it’s idiotic to send weapons to other countries. Don’t believe I used the word dumb. And I’m sorry, but Trudeau is a pussy along with many other leaders. Your big picture assessment is a failure. You think you know what’s behind my opinions and you don’t, your just fishing in a pond that has no fish.

Lauren Boebert doesn't trust Ukraine honestly using USA help in his war effort against Putin.
Does she think Ukraine is run by the Trump family ?

So, Churchill was also a weak leader when he in the same manner came to US at the end of December 1940, i.e., in the “darkest” hour “abandoning” his country by your definition? Let me also remind you this famous Churchill quote: “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile-hoping it will eat him last.” If Russia wins, we may face combined Chinese-Russian military machine in 5-10 years, and this might be much worse than German-Japanese axis. Money is nothing in comparison to the real blood sacrifice and US is spending so far fraction of what Afghan and Iraq war has drained for the same period of time.

This baffles me - why are these Republicans going on record to oppose child sex abuse investigations? Because somebody has to stand up for pedophiles?

In the past 35 years a Republican won the majority of votes in a presidential election only once: George W. Bush, benefitting from the country's mood three years after the 9/11 attacks.

Every other time, the Democratic candidate won the popular vote for President...but several Republican presidents came to power anyway because of the ridiculous Electoral College system, which ensures that bigoted, uneducated rednecks and other rightwing deplorables will have a chance to elect a slimy creature like Traitor 45. That gives hope to DeSantis and other vermin in the GOP.

A second Republican has officially announced a run for the 2024 presidency. The first was well-known loser and crybaby Donald J. Trump, the worst president in history. The latest is spineless Mike Pence, one of the worst and most laughable VPs of all time, best known for kissing Trump's butt for several years. Great news because as long as the Repubs present garbage candidates like this their corrupt, incompetent party will have no chance.
