Hi, would like to ask everyone who is a sushi lover, on their take on their most favorite sushi place to eat. My go to sushi is Matsuno in West Island. Always fresh. But it’s Getting pricy. Need suggestions of any newer spots and if possible less expensive.

Thanks

One that I really like is still open is Sho-Dan. The other two Miso on St. Catherine and Mikasa on Peel closed long ago.

Hanami and Taketa, both on St-Charles, aren't bad. Hanami has good service all the time. Taketa is hit or miss, but the food is good. Both are still priced better than Matsuno. Matsuno is def better than Hanami though when it comes to flavour.

You can try sushi Hin in West island.
Next to station Namur they recently renovated the ground level AYCE sushi to Koyo sushi.

Not an AYCE but Mikado if you are a big group (I think it's 6 and above) they have a huge and delicious platters that you can't finish

Are the good AYCE ones only in West Island? It's kind of far for me, I was hoping to find one more accessible... downtown, it's very basic what we find.
For close to DT, you can try Manga Bistro (next to Kazu) that opened last year. Kaedo sushi they have a restaurant near DT and also in South shore.
In TMR there is Sushi Beaumont.

For fantastic you need to go to Sushi Okeya Kyujiro but price wise it's also fantastic lol
And the experience is WAY too short (especially for the price, 90 minutes for me is barely lunch time), haha!

I'll look it up!

Forgot to mention Ryu (Peel) and the newly opened Momiji par Otto which is in Royalmount (opened by the same owner as Otto Yakitori Izakaya close to Atwater)

He can still order takeaway from the AYCE ones.
Sushi Hin, Matsuno, etc.

One that was not mentioned is Maiko sushi but beware of its opening hours.

I am a big fan of sushi Maiko, i would go often back when they were on Bernard street (outremont mile end area) don't go as often now that they are on Des Sources in DDO west island, but i still get take out from there when i don't mind the drive to and back
