Did you read the words that surround the words "woke crowd" in my sentence? Because if there are dogmatic and anti-scientific people in universities, it is definitely the woke crowd. They have proven it over and over again in the past 12 years, and their time in the spotlight is over. I have shown the opposite mindset in my brief interactions here this evening, as my posts can attest.

If you want anyone that isn't far-right to take you seriously, don't use the term woke. It's original meaning was "aware of the racism and inequality in our society". The far-right has co-opted it for themselves to basically mean "Anything I don't like but can't go into detail about because that would make it apparent that I'm racist/bigoted/a shitty human being".

Just adding the word woke might work for the far-right, but I prefer an actual explanation of what you mean. With the way the word is thrown around these days I might think you just mean non-white people or gay people. It's such a vague term that I have no idea what you actually mean.

Also - "dogmatic and anti-scientific". Are you sure you didn't to the bible thumpers? They're the ones that tend to get in the way of progress and they certainly aren't "woke".

Cool, so no clarification about what you meant. Still don't know what aspect of this "woke crowd" it is that you consider to be the problem. I guess that's kind of the point though. Like you said...

I am sorry that you are offended. I came in with a provocative question, but Luna offered interesting personal insights than led me to refine my thoughts and to integrate psychological aspects as well. Contrary to the woke crowd that dominate universities in social science and pseudo-science, I am open to changing my mind based on information or opinions that are presented to me.

I think your hypothesises are based on societal codes and stereotypes which is already orienting the "answers". Fortunately the sex industry is a safer "society" or safe space where your desires, thoughts are less prone to those judgements. And that's maybe why client base comes from a wide variety of walk of life.
That's also maybe a cue explaining that not only "ugly" clients are paying for SP's services. Obviously one good point @Lunaseraphim mentioned is about the affordability. You might have clients who are paying and/or savingfor special occasions. But for most of us it's because we can afford this luxury.

Actually reading the comments on this topic made me think and create the thread regarding the Chinese scandal about sister Hong here.
In short the scandal is about a man disguising as a woman and recording their encounters. Honestly looking at the "disguise" I can't imagine anyone really thinking she is a lady ...

I feel like a big issue here is that people use buzz words like "woke" or "pick me" or "white knight" to shut others down instead of trying to see the other's perspective and having respectful conversations. It's also because we're online and we don't have the other person/people in front of us.

I also think Merb is somewhat "safe" in the sense that normally no one disturbs the status quo, which is why I'm going to go back to reading books, listening to music, drawing, watching movies, talking to my friends and being pretty

Otherwise for booking the bio/as play play a big importance but to be honest you need to meet the SP to confirm it as usually it's well written but in reality it can be just on paper.

I'm glad that Luna and Rebaynia were here to do all of the heavy lifting on this topic (per usual), but if I've learned anything by being an SP, it's that you are your own worst critic as much as I am mine.
I had an argument relatively recently with a man who, when he opened the door to greet me my first thoughts were literally "wooooh, I'm so lucky, this guy is fucking hot". He then tried to explain to me how unattractive he is, because of this thing or the other that were imperfect in his eyes... anyway, if you're reading this, you're still wrong and I'm still right (obviously).

Exactly. I had a friend that was never single for more than a week at a time in his life. Even he saw a few escorts. Not because he couldn't get laid otherwise but because he chose to. Maybe he had a certain kink, maybe he wanted to experience hiring an SP, maybe because he just didn't want to deal with all the games that are often associated with dating or even just hooking up. A student of Gender Studies would say: "That must be because male scientists who have dominated the field since the beginning are sexists!" The reality is more complicated than that. Decades of psychological research have shown that personality traits and certain innate abilities that vary between men and women influence career choices. That's not to say that there are no talented female physicists–there certainly are many! But to answer these types of question, we have to look at group averages. To further illustrate my point: does anyone think that the fact that 80% of clinical psychologists are women is caused by an anti-men bias in the field? Probably not. In fact, numerous studies have shown that women are, on average, more empathetic than men. Empathy is a very important trait to successfully practice psychotherapy in the 21st century. I also don't believe that psychologists are underpaid (current hourly rate of $140-250 (minus expenses, of course))

This should be nothing new. This debate played out in the media and on social media over the past 10 years. The "woke" crowd were excellent at creating a climate of fear and intimidation, and among the very few who dared telling the truth, based on rigorous scientific research, some lost their job (see the "Google letter" for example). Fortunately, the primacy of rational scientific inquiry is being restored.

I look at the breasts. Are they natural (I don't like fake breasts as much)? If they sag a little, that's a bonus. I examine the poses in the photos, considering whether they seem too heavily edited or filtered. Photos that look natural appeal to me more. Sacroiliac dimples and a little extra padding on the stomach (forming a small bump between the navel and the pubis) really turn me on. A photo dressed in a sundress or little black dress and another in beautiful lingerie (lace) where you can see a bit of a nipple... In short, a natural look is what turns me on.

I read the description/ad to get an idea of whether there would be any affinity, but it often doesn't tell me much. I like mentions of what the SP likes, such as: I really like my ass or my breasts, I love feeling a cock grow in my mouth, or I'm the type to take charge. Descriptions are often a list of what the SP does or doesn't do, rather than a description of what she likes most.

I book on the whole package, trying to see if there will be a fit.

Someone that is sexy and classy, and looks healthy. Also a smile is always preferred, as shows you are someone that has fun. Looking fit and trim is also a bonus to me. Tatoos are neither good nor bad.

I'm a fairly new member of MERB and I just finished reading this long, very informative and addictive thread. Thank you Lena for starting it. Often in life, there is more to be learned about the person who is asking the question than about the answer itself!.

My first question for the lady's is as follows :

If a regular client that you appreciate and see for 2 hrs dates and 4 hrs dinnerdates regularly asked you if you would consider accompanying him to watch a movie or a show free of charge following one of your regular 4 hrs dinnerdate at regular price, how would you feel?

I'm asking because I respect what SW's do for society and for me in particular and would never want to offend a person I truly appreciate by asking her a freebie either for an intimate date or a social date in a bar or restaurant. That said, I would never pay hundreds of dollars just to have a person to sit next to me during a show knowing full well that nothing will happen except maybe holding hands.
