If Spencer Knight gets past his personal demons it could indeed turn out to be a good trade. One good thing for Tampa is that Chicago agreed to keep 25% of Jones’ contract for it’s entire duration. That extra money will be crucial in their attempts to re-sign Sam Bennett.
His OCD is being treated by a mental health expert. Although I think OCD could help a young goalie who is compulsively obsessed with making saves. In any event I root for Knight because is a Connecticut kid like Jon Quick and Tage Thompson.

Is that what it was? Ok so it’s not as serious as i thought it was. I’ve been a lifelong OCD sufferer also. The best way to deal with it is to either seek professional advice or trestment or do your own research to get a better understanding of the affliction. And to be open about it & even joke about it.

The problem with OCD is when it is not treated, for those who are around the OCD sufferer. When I rented a flat around 30 years ago before I bought my current place, the neighbor upstairs used to constantly wake me up. She would start vacuuming her entire condo, directly above mine, every morning at 6:00 am. With great energy and vigor. Making matters worse was that she used one of those souped up older model Hoovers that sounded like a freight train. She was obsessed with vacuuming those floors, she gave it a full one hour cleaning even though the condo was not even 900 square feet, these were 1 bedrooms. One time I said to her, "your condo must be looking good!" She looked at me like I was some kind of wiseass. I was glad when I moved out of there because my current place is one level, nobody upstairs or below.

I know exactly what you mean. I’m not as bad as that. But one of my siblings is married to a woman like the one you described & when i’m around her she drives me totally nuts. I don’t know how my sibling puts up with her…maybe he’s so used to her now that he doesn’t see it.

He’s likely only there for the duration of this season. A rental like Ben Chiarot & Claude Giroux a couple of years ago. Sure there’s always the chance he could re-sign with Boston as a UFA. The Bruins did trade Charlie Coyle but they got Casey Middlestadt in return. They lost Trent Friedricks to Edmonton. They chose to part with Justin Brazeau which surprised me but got prospects in return. They lost popular Brendan Carlo but got a promising young player in return & picks. So it’s not all lost in Boston. I expect them to come back strong next season. However it seems like they chose to part with their big guys & will be going with smaller skilled players in the future. Again don’t be surprised if Brad Marchand doesn’t return to the Bruins next season on a team-friendly 1 or 2 year contract to allow him to retire as a Bruin.

Leafs getting marks for acquiring Brendan Carlo & Scott Laughton. They were looking for a reliable third-line center & a top 6 right-side defenceman & they got them.

Word is that they nearly obtained Mikko Rantanen this morning & even offered Carolina a better package than they got from Dallas. But the Canes preferred trading with Dallas since they didn’t want Rantanen playing for an eastern conference rival. Toronto had offered them top prospects Fraser Minten, Easton Cowan & two first round picks. Once Dallas acquired Rantanen the Leafs turned around & acquired Carlo from Boston for Minten & the picks.

What surprised me the most today wasn’t the fact Marchand was traded. It’s the fact it only cost Florida a conditional first or second round pick to get him. It likely will be a first unless they get upset in the first round which I can’t see happening unless they face Tampa. Another reason i can’t see Florida re-signing Marchand is due to the fact they won’t have any cap money left if (and they will) re-sign Sam Bennett. Seth Jones’ acquisition also doesn’t leave them with much room although Chicago will retain some money.

Brandon Carlo to the Leafs also surprised me. I wasn’t aware he was even considered to be moved.

I never been a big fan of him but, Tom Wilson, at age 30, is having his best offensive season ever. With 29 goals, 22 assists and only 59 minutes spent in the penalty box! Makes me wonder what kind of record he would show if he hadnt been put in the enforcer role all his carrer.
