la game...BUT no......anyway always a big big challenge playing at Lambeau Field.

Great game last night & the worse part for the Jags wasn’t losing in OT to the Bengals but they lost star QB Trevor Lawrence to a high ankle sprain. The team hopes he’ll be able to return this season. If not they won’t last very long in the playoffs!

Niners look like the best team right now. They completely beat the Eagles in all phases! They’re loaded on offence and difficult to stop when they get on a roll. The defence is also great, as they can rush 4 and cover on the back end, with a good secondary. The LBs are also elite.

Of course, things can change quickly in the NFL. A key injury or 2 and then things can change. And anything can happen in the playoffs, since it’s a 1-game elimination.

But if they play like the last few weeks, the Niners will be tough to beat.

Patriots-Steelers tomorrow night. This on paper looks like an absolutely brutal game to watch unless you have money on that game. The Steelers will be led by Mitch Trebisky & Bill-o will probably start Billy Zappe since he can’t stand Mac Jones. BET ON THE UNDER.

I heard on WFAN this morning that the NFL may set a record for the number of backup QBs starting for one weekend, this coming weekend. The Thursday game, and the 2 Saturday games, will feature all backup QBs on both sides- so 6 to start things off. One caller suggested that the NFL modify rules to allow a 12th man on offense whose exclusive job is to protect the QB. Boomer Esiason laughed this off, saying that the "refs are supposed to be the 12th man with this same task." I think the rules and officiating have been QB friendly. The problem is the athletes playing in the NFL have gotten bigger, faster and stronger and the resulting collisions more violent, but the human bodies playing the game haven't developed shells like a turtle. And even the helmet technology advances can only do so much. When a head is violently whipped against the ground like CJ Stroud's was yesterday against the Jets, a concussion is going to happen. You just can't totally protect the head and make it injury proof with these kind of collisions and impacts at high speed and force. Laws of physics do not get suspended because a game of football is being played.

Was a Chiefs fan but now that every Chiefs game has become The Taylor Swift Show watching their games has become a real test of my patience.
Seeing the Bills, my other preferred team, take the win, made my day.

The way injury lists have become normalized in TV broadcasts, like any other game stat, shows that there is a general acceptance of the insane amount of physical damage inflicted on these athletes.

Same here. Fed up with the Travis Kelce/Taylor Swift reality show. I’m a die-hard Bills fan & previously didn’t really care much about the Chiefs but the overexpos of these two has now got me hating the Chiefs. Enough!

I disagree with whoever this broadcaster saying players have gotten bigger. That's a comment for comparing the old NFL of the 60s up until 10 yrs ago. I would argue when the NFL transitioned to being a passing league, the players got smaller, esp on defense. Then running back game and TE being de-emphasized, the DE, linebackers, don't need to add weight. TE's aren't as big = they runblock way less, and run passing routes more. ( It's the NFL version of the NBA = more scoring less hard points thanks to less D.)

The NFL D are more focused on the pass play for play, so they are more focused on stopping the QB who is likely going to drop back and pass rather than handoff..
despite there being way more 'protections' the referees have for the QB... it was bound to happen that with more athletitc QBs doing the running too, extending plays... we have more injuries in this passing league being chased by faster defenses.

Ok, regretting bringing TS & TK into the thread.
When I watch an NFL game I don't want to be inundated with TMZ style coverage of musics most irritating (and overrated) pop star.
re: the previous two posts- "Ewwww!"
That's an image I could really do without.

Great win by the Bills who kept their playoff hopes alive by absolutely destroying the Dallas Cowbys 31-10. Huge game by James Cook, Josh Allen & especially the Bills defence! Next week they’ll face the Chargers on Saturday night & a week later will close the regular season in Miami against the Dolphins. If the Dolphins lose next week against Dallas then their game against the Bills would quite possibly decide which of these two great teams advances to the playoffs! Go Bills!

It was a total suck-ass performance by the KC offense yesterday- culminating in these sideline explosions by Travis Kelce (see videos embedded in below article), in response to which Andy Reid shoulder-bumped Kelce:
Patrick Mahomes has had a few very poor games lately. The guy is human, his WR corps sucks and he is getting frustrated by the poor overall play of the team, which is 3-5 in its last 8 games.
Frustration City!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was a fun game to watch the other day & how amusing the Chiefs are to watch when they’re melting down! Lol

There won’t be any home field advantage this season for the Chiefs. Mahomes is an incredibly talented QB but he’s prone to mistakes & throwing interceptions at the wrong time. And while it’s true that they don’t have great wide receivers Travis Kelce isn’t getting any younger & on top of the off-field distractions he’s slowed down. I like their running game & their defence is better than it ever was. However with opposing defences now double-teaming Kelce the Chiefs offence no longer is as fearful as it once was. I still wonder they let Tyreek Hill leave. Was it cap issues or they misjudged how talented he is? Go Bills!

They undervalued his talent and were oversold on the belief that Patrick Mahomes can raise up the level of all around him, even weak WRs. I think they thought he could make lemonade from lemons, but it was more like trying to make lemonade from dogshit. Sometime, you just can't do it. Mahomes is having a poor season and the WRs are a part of it, but also a part of it has been Mahomes being mistake prone. It's a tough league. It's a tough league sometimes for the very best players.
