The thing is for me it happen when I write "Je" and it changes automatically for "Jean". I never write Jean? I don't remember the last time I wrote the name Jean. So I don't know how it happened, really?

Then I would write Jeans, not Jean. And I write "Je" a thousand more times than I could write Jeans or Jean. I ended up turning this option off, taking the time to correct my texts is good.

I promise you that I don't type Hilton a lot, practically never, and especially not with my phone. I might look up the location of one of the Doubletree Hotels but I'm way to lazy to type out "Doubletree by Hilton Montreal downtown"
Do you remember when a certain cola manufacturer paid for the predictive text to switch to "Coke"? It was downright infuriating. Instead of "come downstairs" it would switch too "Coke downstairs" which has a very different meaning lol

Me, I literally don't understand people who loudly speak a foreign language over the phone while on the bus. Every. Single. Day. It's rarely loudly in French or English, by the way. Draw your own conclusions.
Usually, they use their free WhatsApp service to speak with the entire family overseas.
When that happens, I take my cell phone out and start blasting Slayer on 10. It usually forces them to move elsewhere.
There's two aspects to this IMHO.
1. In a foreign language they feel they don't have to be discrete as they assume no one or very few will understand anything.
2. Unfortunately some of these people come from areas of the world that are just louder in general like india or certain Arabic countries where our loud is their normal.
But it is annoying nonetheless. Thanks goodness for noise canceling headphones .
It is a cultural thing, just like you hear some of the SPs bitching about certain clients and the ill-mannered way in which they are treated by them.
Do you have the same problem with people who speak loudly on the phone on the bus in english or french? I notice people usually don't have problem with that.
Like I said in the post you quoted, it rarely happens. When it happens, it does bother me. I have been taking public transit daily for the past ten years. Only in recent years has the STM had to have a public awareness campaign (billboards, audio messages) on good manners on the transit system. Something must have happened to explain this increase in uncivil behaviour.
It's the internet and covid. Covid really did a number on some people's social skills and the internet rewards people for being assholes. People are caring less about the people immediately around them and more about how much engagement their ragebait post is getting and how many followers they have.

I always remove that auto-correct. I find it so annoying.My phone has decided that it won't let me say "Hi" anymore. Every time I type "Hi" it autocorrects to "Hilton".
Seriously? Who came up with that brilliant idea? Clearly it was Hilton.
So if I answer your text with "Hiiiiiiiiii!" it's because it's the easiest way to make it not autocorrect.

When I used to live in Toronto it was usually the Chinese from China (Not Canadian born Chinese) that were yelling in Cantonese/Mandarin from one end of the but to the other. Maybe it is the norm in their country to speak out lout like that.
