Iranian military was on super high alert after Trump assassinated their top military leader. Bad shit happens when nations go to war.

So it is Trump's fault, thank you for clearing this up. Did global warming play a role too?

Hey Cruiser777 are the folks over at Boeing breathing a huge sigh of relief or what?

Tell me about it...

Must be huge, very huge sigh of relief big time.

FYI / Just saw this but haven't gone through the whole thing yet.

And if the missile images are true, the twitter explanation (Bellingcat) is right on the spot.
Although I would be very surprised if Iranians officials / government people saw these and didn't remove it...

The whole US economy is breathing a sigh of relief. That's how big Boeing is in the US.

It will be interesting to see if Iran admits to this mistake, if the currently available evidence holds true.
Friendly fire is a fact of war. People are also blaming the airlines for continuing to fly in a potential war zone.

But it happened at the same time as Iran was firing missile. Did the airline knew? Most probably not at that point. It was Iran that should have shut down all flying over it's territory. They will never admit as these yalatoya yahoo are stubborn and way too fucked up. But it's obvious Iran realized this is a huge mistake on their part.... Especially since it touches their own people and somehow Canada. Fuck who would ever invade Canada? :)

Lying bastards......they should just come out and say what happened, some kid got trigger happy and forgot to check with air traffic control about outgoing civilian flight paths....

It was a potential war zone because everyone knew Iran was going to retaliate against the US for the assassination a few days earlier, and Iranian forces were bracing for an American response. I have a friend living over there now, and the whole region was scared. That's why whatever Iranian soldier it was who fired that missile was trigger happy. It's like when police pull over black people driving in a bad neighborhood, they get trigger happy partly out of fear.
Give Iran a chance, EB. They still have time to admit their mistake. I don't blame them for waiting to be 100% sure first.

I’m no aviation expert, but even I thought it suspicious when they immediately announced an engine failure . So they can keep the “ black box “ and stick it up they’re ayatollah arses . I’ve met so many Iranians over the years as well and most were really nice people. But It’s just a shame really when you have fanatics trying to govern a nation according to religion

And after everything was said about retaliation it was the innocent that ended up paying with their lives
With out a doubt the work of an Iranian anti aircraft missile thinking the passenger aircraft was a drone or even a jet fighter coming to retaliate after the US base was hit . Unfortunately mistakes like these ones happen when people are on panic mode and on edge

Of course. They are methodically working through all possible options. And their initial instincts are exactly spot on, as we have read in the Daily Mail article linked earlier:

Soon after Trudeau, Johnson and Trump spoke out, Iran issued a statement denying that the airliner was struck by a missile.

'All these reports are a psychological warfare against Iran,
' Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei said, according to state TV.

They did not wait. If you read the linked article, they issued a statement accusing the US/west of "waging psychological warfare against Iran." What kind of nonsense bullshit is this? That private media publishes videos of their missiles hitting their civilian airliner and that amounts to psychological warfare? And Canada and UK does the same? So all 3 countries are guilty of waging psychological warfare against Iran? This is bullshit, why can't they just admit the truth so the families of the dead Iranian kids know that their loved ones died because of some trigger happy kid who did not check the civilian flight paths?

The MAX is fundamentally flawed and should be scrapped or at the least used and converted to transport only cargo but never again passengers.
This Muilenburg the “ fall guy “ and probably his predecessors as well, they were criminally negligent and should have been safety focused ,,, it always starts at the top . Typical US obsessed with “bigger” rather than “ better “ .
And where was the FAA in all of this ? If I had my way they would have been held accountable as well and not only Boeing . FAA’s intervention was slow and recent investigation shows that FAA’s management often sided with Boeing rather than looking out for the public’s safety which is their primary mission
