I just want to bring awareness about recent increase in fake Canadian bank notes circulating.

A friend of mine sold a laptop via marketplace. The transaction was made in cash (about 15xx$).
The buyer was short like 20-50$. And they agreed the buyer could transfer to him the remaining.

Afterwards, the buyer's contacts have been shutdown when he wanted to follow-up.

Finding it weird he checked the bank notes and they all bore the same bank note number.

By checking the news it seems there is an increase of counterfeit bank notes Fake bank notes

This is something that can be very harmful to all of us.

I had something to sell. An iPhone 16. My young neighbor suggested to sell it on marketplace. Since I am not an expert on marketplace and very busy, the kid took care of the project.

Some guy was interested. All was going well when they met until the kid refused to settle the deal at his place but instead asked the buyer to follow him at the local police station (one minute walk) where there is a safe room for this kind of transaction. The buyer became extremely aggressive and refused.

They were on the sidewalk and the buyer insist to see and inspect the iPhone on the street. The kid refused and tried to go away but the buyer insisted and tried to hold to kid.

At the same time a police car was coming back to the station…. The buyer left at the speed of light lol

Lesson learned !

If you have something to sell, have a meeting at the police station safe room.
