I'm interested in getting Videotron Helix JUST to increase the speed & range of my WiFi.
I don't care about any other features - I don't even have a TV in my place.
I have a biggish condo with concrete walls & the range with regular wifi (400down/50up) doesn't do a very good job.
Salespeople at Videotron tell me Helix will have terrific range and increase the speed of my Wifi.

Can anyone who has gotten Videotron's Helix comment about this? Is it just sales tactics or will getting Helix solve some of my WiFi woes?

It is sales tactic but it will work for the range in you're case.

Basically Helix have the wifi extenders that they will install if necessary around you're house to boost you're range.
You can do the same with a normal routeur, but you need to get extender that are compatible with said routeur and configure them.

For people who aren't tech-savy or who don't want to invest in compatible routeur-extender set, they will set it up for you

I have a 3 level home with the router/modem in the basement.

I had Bell Fibe, and used 3rd party extenders. I more or less had no issue with range.

I got Helix a few months back with the gateway in the same place and using the same extenders. I had lots of issues with range in the upper level rooms. Broke down and got the videotron wifi extenders and they immediately made a big difference.
There is an added cost to the extenders if you need them

I have Bell Fibe 500 Mbps upload/download for 65.95$ (after 25$ discount) plus taxes monthly. Great WiFi signals.
