Donald Trump may be speeding through his administration appointments — as of Wednesday he’s more than halfway through announcing his Cabinet picks — but the majority of Americans disapprove of how he’s handling his transition.

According to a survey released Thursday by Pew Research, just 41% of Americans approve of the job the president-elect has done making clear his “policies and plans.” That number is significantly lower than past presidents.

President Obama had the highest transition approval going into his presidency in December 2008, at 72%. Former president Bill Clinton had 62% in January 1993 and George W. Bush had 50% in January 2001, according to Pew.

The majority of Americans also aren’t thrilled with his Cabinet selections: Forty percent approve of his picks for Cabinet and high-level posts.

Nearly three-quarters of Americans supported Obama’s picks (71%). Clinton followed with 64% support for his choices, Bush 41 had the backing of 59%, and Bush 43 had 58% support.

Thirty-five percent of Americans think he will be a “good or great president," and 18% say he will be “average.” Thirty-eight percent think he will be “poor or terrible.”

Think about it. Donald Dumpster got 49% or so of the popular vote but only 41% approve of how he has been handling his transition. That's 8 point lower than those who voted for him. He had better be careful not to try and translate the Hillary haters into loyal supporters. His overall support politically is weak...of course that won't stop him from saying...DUH, I could have 100% support if I wanted it. ound: BWAHAHAHAHAHA! What a dolt.

The hating Hillary equation is gone. From this point on he can't use it to boost himself and he'd better realize most people see him as an impulsive nutjob.

I for one am not 'upset' that my American brothers and sisters voted for Donald Trump. I'm fully aware that not all of them are racists and bigots, as many people seem to believe. I understand their reasons and also understand that in the States, if you're born in a family of Republicans or Democrats, you usually will wind up voting for your family's party for the rest of your life.

I'm more extremely disappointed that my American brothers and sisters were so naive throughout the election. Many failed to see that they were being sold a fake bill of goods by a snake oil salesman. I was also extremely disappointed that they'd vote for a bigot, racist and mysognist like Donald Trump. Heck, i would have preferred voting for Daffy Duck had i been in their shoes.

Look, i'm really hoping that i'm totally wrong about him. But i feat that he'll be a huge disaster and he'll take the country down the shitter over the next 4-8 years. He's totally unqualified for the job of President and the next years will be years of extreme conflict around Washington and not only will the United States pay the price for the voters' mistake, but the rest of the world (including Canada) will also suffer the consequences.

President-elect Donald Trump's transition team slammed the CIA Friday, following reports the agency has concluded that Russia intervened in the election to help him win.

In a stunning response to widening claims of a Russian espionage operation targeting the presidential race, Trump's camp risked an early feud with the Intelligence community on which he will rely for top secret assessments of the greatest threats facing the United States.

"These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction," the transition said in a terse, unsigned statement.

"The election ended a long time ago in one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history. It's now time to move on and 'Make America Great Again.'"

The sharp pushback to revelations in The Washington Post, which followed an earlier CNN report on alleged Russian interference in the election, represented a startling rebuke from an incoming White House to the CIA.

The transition team's reference to the agency's most humiliating recent intelligence misfire — over its conclusion that Iraq under Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction — threatens to cast an early cloud over relations between the Trump White House and the CIA, whose assessments he'll need to make monumental decisions.

The top leadership of the agency that presided over the Iraq failure during the Bush administration has long since been replaced. But the comments from Trump's camp will cause concern in the Intelligence community about the incoming President's attitude to America's spy agencies. CNN reported this week that Trump is getting intelligence briefings only once a week. Several previous presidents preparing for the inauguration had a more intense briefing schedule.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the investigation into Russia's hacking told CNN last week that the US intelligence community is increasingly confident that Russian meddling in the US election was intended to steer the election toward Trump, rather than simply to undermine or in other ways disrupt the political process.

On Friday, the Post cited US officials as saying that intelligence agencies have identified individuals connected to the Russian government who gave Wikileaks thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta.

Senate Democrats responded to the news Friday and Saturday by calling on the Intelligence community to turn over to Congress as much relevant information on the subject of Russian hacking to Congress.

"That any country could be meddling in our elections should shake both political parties to their core," incoming Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said in a statement. "Senate Democrats will join with our Republican colleagues next year to demand a congressional investigation and hearings to get to the bottom of this."

Trump has repeatedly said there is no evidence to suggest that President Vladimir Putin's Russia, with which he has vowed to improve relations, played a nefarious role in the US election.

"I don't believe it. I don't believe they interfered," Trump said in an interview for the latest issue of Time magazine, adding that he thought intelligence community accusations about Russian interventions in the election were politically motivated.

Trump has also been highly sensitive to any suggestion that he did not win the election fair and square, including claiming that he is only trailing Clinton in the popular vote because of a huge trove of illegal votes -- a claim for which he has provided no evidence.

His surrogates including Republican National Committee Communications Director Sean Spicer underscored the point Saturday that there's little evidence that Russian hacking would have affected the overall outcome of the election.

"What proof does anyone have that they effected the outcome because I've heard zero," he said in a heated conversation with CNN's Michael Smerconsih. "Show me what facts have actually shown that anything undermined that election."

Earlier Friday, the White House said that President Barack Obama had ordered a full review into hacking aimed at influencing US elections going back to 2008.

Russia has demanded evidence of its alleged involvement in the election and denied any wrongdoing.

May GOP insiders who were around Reagan at the time have claimed that Alzheimers had already began eating away at Ronald Reagan's brain during his second term. However, i recently was studying some of his speeches from his days as Governor of California and when he ran against Gerald Ford in 1976. His speech patterns were quite different from one another and by the time he was elected President in 1980, his dialect had begun to slow down. My conclusion: Alzheimers had already began to attack his brain when he first got elected. During those years, Nancy Reagan would stand next to him and when she'd notice he would be trying to find his words during public speeches, she'd whisper the words to him. Sad.

Remember the Iran-Contra scandal that he was involved in throughout his second term? He kept claiming he couldn't recall anything about it. At the time, Americans had concluded he was likely lying. He was a hands-on President and suddenly he didn't know anything about that scandal? I mean, come on! However, considering what we later learned about how advanced his battle with Alzheimers had become by the end of his 2nd term, i believe he was correct in stating that he didn't recall any of it. He simply could not remember because of Alzheimers. Sad.

Also it's not just the Democrats. Republicans are pushing hard to investigate Russian hacking into the election and any hacking of any kind. T-Rump's reason for denying what everyone knows are clear and superficial. 1. Business interests in Russia. 2. Russian hacking to help him get elected further delegitimizes the election results and weakens his position. It's very selfish of dumpster to deny it's happening.

Besides if Russia did this what other very dangerous hacking could they be up to. Targeting defense systems. Targeting financial systems, MORE. ABSODAMNLUTELY!!!

There was a report yesterday about a young lady who got up and asked T-Rump a question during the campaign. He didn't like the question. Of course she had given her name before asking. The Rump MAFIA (thugs for Rump) found out show she was, went after her on Facebook, made all kinds of thinly veiled threats and did all they could to make life miserable for her. This is very scary folks and it's a looming disaster for the country. The really stupid thing is he could be cooking his own goose. He's openly challenging the best information system he could have and his National Security Advisor is not only a General who let classified information out, something even Hillary was not accused of doing (remember she was accused of having it on her server, not passing it out), and he thinks 100% phony conspiracy lies like PizzaGate are true. This kind of attitude toward "intelligence" the government must rely on to plan and keep the country if not the world safe is dangerous. Rejecting it could be seen as duplicitous, which if taken far enough could also give some cause for impeachment.

The worst of the whole thing is he doesn't even make himself available to be receive the information the President of the United States must by duty have to make informed decisions, so to a degree he's gone rogue against the best intelligence there is. He's proving everything I've ever said about him. He's incompetent, he's unstable, and he's an asshole. He's combative against his own party, which as I've said many times does not want him in charge in the first place.

Reagan with Alzheimer's was more capable of handling the office.

EXXON Mobile CEO leads list for Secretary of State, sources say

WASHINGTON -- ExxonMobil Chairman and CEO Rex Tillerson is the leading candidate for Secretary of State in a Donald Trump administration, multiple sources familiar with the transition process tell CNN on Saturday.

The final announcement is expected to be made in the middle of next week, according to a source close to the campaign. A source also said Mitt Romney is still in the running, at the urging of Reince Priebus, who will be Trump's chief of staff.

Tillerson, who met with Trump in New York Saturday, is considered one of the faces of Big Oil globally.

Tillerson has told the President-elect he would be honored to have the job of secretary of state and left Saturday's meeting believing he will be the pick, according to two sources familiar with his thinking.

One said Tillerson was told the President-elect will formalize his choice next week -- as in extend an official offer.

Both sources shared information on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the issue for the record. Trump's spokesman Jason Miller tweeted Saturday that there would be "no announcements on Secretary of State until next week at the earliest."

Tillerson was originally considered a long shot to be America's top diplomat, but Trump is reportedly intrigued by the oil man's view of the world.

"He is much more than a business executive. He is a world class player. He is in charge of, I guess, the largest company in the world," Trump told Fox News' Chris Wallace in an interview airing Sunday. "And to me, a great advantage is that he knows many of the players. And he knows them well."

"He does massive deals in Russia. He does massive deals -- for the company, not for himself, for the company," the real estate mogul added.

As head of the world's most valuable oil company, Tillerson could be a controversial pick due to concerns about climate change and his ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Sen. John McCain told CNN on Saturday that he had concerns about Tillerson's relationship to Russia and wants to hear his answers to such during his would-be hearing before making up his mind.

"What about all the other things -- right now, the targeting of hospitals by Russian aircraft with precision weapons in Syria, in Aleppo?" the Arizona Republican asked ahead of the Army-Navy football game. "Those are the kind of questions that we need to ask about the relationship with Vladimir Putin."

In 2011, Exxon signed a deal with Russian oil giant Rosneft to provide access to lucrative oil resources in the Arctic.

Rosneft's largest shareholder is the Russian government. Putin attended the Exxon signing ceremony and later awarded Tillerson the country's Order of Friendship.

Other contenders for the secretary of state position include former CIA Director David Petraeus; Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker; and former UN Ambassador John Bolton.

Bolton could become the #2 at the State Department, but no offer has yet been extended. The transition wants to announce the secretary of state nominee and deputy as a package deal next week.
