Tips for finding and saving pics of SP's from websites, past and present

I like to keep a collection of pics of SP's that I've visited with, to spark memories. Often, I'll be browsing and I'll see that they're posted a new set of pics, and I'll go to download them and add them to the collection.

I often run into two problems... one I have a solution I'd like to share, and the other, I don't, and would appreciate any advice from the technically-minded.

Problem #1 is agency sites that don't allow you to just right-click-save-image-as. Euphoria is an example. While it's possible to circumvent any such system with a screengrab, I prefer to get a higher quality version that hasn't been stretched and resampled by the web page renderer. To get around this, I use "Inspect Elements" in Chrome. Took me a minute to get the hang of it and every site is a little different. Not all sites block this, and some let you just right-click, as is currently the case for Forever. But anyway, you open the "Inspect Elements" pane, click on a pic, then expand the carets until you see a URL with a .jpg in it. You copy that, paste it into another tab, and now you can save. It's tedious but once you get the hang you can do it fast for a bunch of images in sequence. If I were less lazy I'd write a script but...

Problem #2 is harder. It's where you've been looking at an SP for several months, and her photos change, and you wish you could grab the earlier ones, but you didn't because who has time to grab all of the photos from everywhere. Then you visit her and it's awesome and you download the current pics, but you wish you could grab the older ones, because frankly they were doing it more for you. The Wayback Machine of the Internet Archive is a good tool, but it doesn't archive most pictures. Or does it? Is there a way to find older pics that I don't know about?

Posting because I just saw Briana at Euphoria, had an awesome time, and wish I could grab her older pics, as well as the pics from the agencies she was at previously. Have had this happen a few times now.

For problem #1, similar with inspect element there is the developer tools menu and just showing the data/pictures and save them.

You know, you could just set shop on X and save pictures that are posted... Would be less ick

Anyway, to answer, unless you know where they are hosted, no you can't exactly go back in time

It is a little uncomfortable an idea having our pics saved, but is something I guess inevitable, and expected, it's just weird being confronted with the idea how to get around the safeguards some rely on.

I have seen this used on a positive way before too, that I found so dear, as a gift edited photo.

On a Mac, hit cmd, shift, 3 simultaneously to do a screen shot. Then open the screenshot in a photo editing app like Photoshop Elements, use the crop feature to outline the photo you want to save and then save it as a jpg.

I have a lot of photos of girls that I have encountered in Montreal and elsewhere that goes back 25 years. I never post them anywhere but I have sometimes shared them with friends . They are mainly for my own enjoyment. :)

Thanks all for the guidance... I kind of figured there was no good answer to #2.

And sorry to any SP's who've been made uncomfortable by this. Based on the comments, this is a common practice among clients and probably to be expected of anything we put on the internet.

I also think there's a social contract at play when you save a photo of someone - that you'll keep it private. I have never shown any of my photos to anyone else. I keep them in a password-encrypted zip file. If I get hit by a bus tomorrow, nobody else can open it.

I can definitely see this being an activity that SPs would list under the ‘Creepy’ category, or ‘Weird’ at the very least.

Based on the comments, this is a common practice among clients and probably to be expected of anything we put on the internet.
- Just because other people also do it, doesn’t mean it’s not weird or creepy.

but you didn't because who has time to grab all of the photos from everywhere
- Preceded by, and followed by, far more time consuming and effort intensive lengths you’re willing to go through in order to save high-res versions and to recover photos that’ve since been taken down.

I’ll take ‘Creepy Shit You Keep To Yourself’ for $1000, Alex.
