Is a vaccine passport for travel or for visiting stores and stuff?

What would prevent a market for fake vaccine passports?

These are likely to be electronically attached to you passport ie: the information That is displayed on the screen whenever you go through passport control. The issue was going to be just how far it’s going to be accessible to third parties i.e. some form of identification - likely a photo- It would have to be shown before you go into a restaurant, Stadium etc. We get into some privacy issues pretty quickly here and as we know from the abuses of photo scanning by the police this could open a big can of worms.

Assuming that the test will not be conducted by a pretty girl in a bikini, which countries is the mongering scene good enough to have this test upon entry? Certainly not China,

If they don’t trust the nasal test, I wonder why they don’t go with the highly-accurate sniffing dogs? Perhaps there just isn’t the human-dog relationship in China to that extent?
WHAT?!?! Anal Swab.....

I hope they don’t confuse between the Nasal, Saliva, and Anal Tests.....
“Excuse me, is that a fresh Swab?”

***I’M WAITING FOR THE WRITTEN COVID TEST***

Look behind you.
Some common sense in Europe.

The Council of Europe recently adopted a report entitled 'COVID-19 vaccines: ethical, legal and practical considerations', which urges Member States and the EU to ensure citizens are informed that vaccination is not mandatory and that no one may be discriminated against because they choose not to be vaccinated.Feb. 19, 2021

I assume my Covid vaccination card, once completed after I get Pfizer part 2, gets me a vaccine passport? I assume this was one reason why they gave me a vaccination card.

No debate here. I encourage all my fellow canadians not to get the soon mandatory vaccine passport and stay in the country and not to travel. This way, I will watch you guys 6 months / year from my house in The Caribbean manifesting in a snow storm :)

The CDC vaccination card is meant to be an appointment reminder nothing more.

No, they do NOT put your next appointment on the card. They put the completed appointment date on the card and sign it, to prove that you got the vaccination on the date that you got it. This is not a reminder card for the next appointment. They send an email for that.

The Card itself is called the "Covid Vaccination Record Card", and it records the lot # of the vaccine, the date(s) of when you got your shots, and where/from whom you got the shot. It proves I am vaccinated with Pfizer, first shot, at Walgreens, and when I got the shot.

On the back of my CDC Card it says right across the top "Reminder! Return for a second dose!" The underneath the clerk hand writes in the date and time of your next appointment. You also get an email and a text message. As far as being able to use it as a vaccine passport I would highly doubt it. Anybody can print up one of those cards and the card you got (myself included) is probably useless but a great novelty to show your great grand kids. That info does go into a federal database so they may give you an app or the option to connect the info to your passport down the road. But sadly, the card is worthless.

Nothing is written on the back of my card. Walgreens sent me an email on my second dose so no reminder was needed. They also emailed me a reminder the day before the first dose and I am sure they will email a reminder on the day before the second dose. All that is on my card is the lot# of the Pfizer vaccine, the date I got it, and the provider/where I got it (Walgreens).

Sorry @EagerBeaver , but it’s not meant to be definitive proof of vaccination as they can be easily forged. On top of that, I never said it was an appointment reminder that tells you the date/time of your next dose. It’s a reminder to get your second dose.

“When you’re vaccinated, you’ll be given a CDC card that lists information such as your name, the date when you were vaccinated, where you were vaccinated, and which vaccine you received. The cards are intended to be a reminder of when to get your second shot rather than proof that you’ve been vaccinated.”

Getting proper documentation from the health organization that administered it to you is much better if vaccine passports do become a reality. E.g. Walgreens prints out patient leaflets when you receive a vaccine that are printed on the same sheets that come with your regular prescriptions. This would be better proof than a CDC card.

On the front of the card it lists your "patient number". That's probably gonna be the way you link it up to an app or your passport in the future.

Walgreens did give me this leaflet, and it does look exactly like the leaflet you get for prescriptions. And it also documents the vaccine I got, when I got it and where. I am saving everything Walgreens gave me by email and in person in a special "Covid Vaccine" folder I created.

I just want some or all of it to be acknowledged so that I can get the vaccine passport. I will bring the whole folder to the passport officials and they can pick and choose what they want as proof. I really don't care, because I saved it all. They can copy the whole file and then give me my passport.
