The Nicotene Pouch Craze

I haven’t smoked cigarettes since high school but recently started using Nicotene pouches, the popular Z brand. I don’t want to shill.

I’m finding myself liking them, and contrary to the research that is out there, I’m finding that my libido is actually increasing and presumably my testosterone as well. No impotency issues. I know that anecdotal reporting goes against the science.

Actually, I’ve used a pouch prior to an appointment back in December and it turned out to be a better (more intense) experience than usual.

Anyone else experiencing that phenomenon? I try to limit myself to a can a week (15 pouches) and use only over a three day period on average. I’m in reasonably good health, drink only moderately, no weed or other drugs.

We just found out that our 23 yo son is using nicotine patches (he never smoked other that marijuana once in a while). He says that all his frinds are doing this and it keeps him less anxious…

I still don’t get it…probably not very risky behavior but still an addiction

I think you mean Nicotene pouches and not patches, which are a thing.

Gen Z men is key demographic. Usage could be as high as 20%.

I think addiction is a strong word because it’s different for everyone. Some people do certain hard drugs everyday and quit cold turkey.

It can be habit forming for most and addictive for some. I enjoy it and was never a smoker. Moderation. I’ve noticed only health benefits (libido, clearer thinking, weight loss, less stress etc) from using it but that’s not the case for everyone. Teens should certainly stay away from it.

were you a smoker before? just not polluting your lungs will do wonders.
Only cigarettes occasionally in high school. My cigar smoking buddy introduced me to Zyn. I’ve noticed only health benefits but I’m not going to be an ambassador for nicotine pouches since health risks vary by individual.

Google Zyn or Alp. It’s a pouch you put on your upper gums which releases Nicotene.
I will, however, I gave up tobacco over 15 years ago, so it is highly unlikely I would try something like that.

I have not seen anyone using it yet, at least not in Canada, which is what I find odd.

Thanks.

Its pretty discreet et pretty popular. Its not like chewing tobbacco where people spit. Its a small pouch you place on your gums. Is it healthy? NO. But sure beats cigarettes and vaping.

Does it leave an odour or taste in your mouth like tobacco smoked would?

Thanks for sharing. I’ve noticed nothing but health benefits from Zyn.

I think it’s crazy that Canada restricts nicotine pouches to one brand (Zomnic) which is available only at pharmacies, and just 4mg which is nothing. Yet cannabis is widely available. That makes no sense, except for Canada’s undeclared war on men (overwhelmingly more likely to use Nicotene pouches). And I see smokers everywhere polluting their lungs.

Actually nicotine pouches in Canada must be advertised as a smoking cessation tool, not as a recreational thing. Your politicians are insane (but we got some dandy’s here too)

You can buy Nicotene pouches pretty much anywhere in the US, but ironically not at CVS, with strengths more than double the 4mg limit in Canada.

Make it make sense.

I'm not sure about the 4mg or why. What I know is shaking a nicotine addiction is a lot harder then a canabis one, when you get to the physiological perspective.
Physical one, that's easely replacable by putting something in your mouth. Tooth-pick, gum, nice tiddy from time to time etc...
In retrospective, it might be one of the reason why they limit it to 4mg. I'm not a neuroscientist guy.

I think it has more to do with the fact cannabis makes people passive and thus more easily controlled by political powers, while nicotine increases testosterone and enhances mental clarity for many. Politicians hate the latter.

And nicotine can certainly be addictive, but so can cheese, cigars, water, and cupcakes. I haven’t experienced any real downside to nicotine pouches, but I don’t doubt some have. In that case, dealing with a habit becomes necessary and doable, but with some effort
