All my plans in Toronto were cancelled and I mostly just saw clients and stayed in my room.

I'm usually not looking forward to getting back to Montreal but I know I'll be seeing some friends by the end of the week.

A SP I met recently told me something that really upset me (I'm still mad as I am writing this) and, of course, I don't want to go into the details of this private conversation but I figured I need to remind something to the clients who think they can abuse SW's.

If you think you have control over a SP because you threathen to tell her friends and family of her life as a SP, think again. She has way more control over you.

If you inform her family and friends of her life as a SP, she will be embarassed for a while but that will probably not last, she will get over it. However, the consequences for the abuser will last a long time.

Remember that paying for sex is criminal and, worst yet, threatening a SP to out her to obtain sexual favors that she doesn't offer (CIM, Greek for example) is a serious criminal offense, typically classified as extortion. If she is upset enough, you will end up in jail.

SP's should get nothing but respect from their clients. Respect in general but respect of their private life and boundaries in particular. If one SP doesn't offer something you want, go elsewhere, there is plenty to choose from.

We don't have more control than our clients... Hence why there is this type of violence in this industry. But yes everything else is good advice, don't abuse people.......

I hesitated for a long time before writing the comment above that the Capt refers to. One reason was that I felt I sounded like a preacher. I don't like preachers, but it seems I have to admit that I might be one myself, sorry.

Another reason was that I knew the clients on MERB are all perfect gentlemen and that this comment couldn't possibly apply to any of them (no, I just made that up).

If this comment helps even one SP to quickly silence a harassing client, or make even one client think twice before doing something they might regret, then it will have been worthwhile. Otherwise, it will have been nothing but empty words that will soon be forgotten, so no harm done then.

I believe that it's not difficult in the age of social media to find personal information about a SP. I'm pretty sure I could easily find personal information on every SP's I've met more than once (and there are several).

Deposits. There are multiple threads about clients not wanting to send deposits. I understand this perspective if you've been scammed before, but from my point of view, I get punished often enough for not requiring them.

Since Monday of last week, 3 different bookings were cancelled, all 2h+ sessions. I was looking forward to them and made space in my schedule.

It gets annoying when people don't treat my time as important. I often end up finding out the client was lying and wasted my time, or it feels like he's either not telling the truth although I have no proof. It's inconsiderate. This is my job, this isn't a Tinder date you're cancelling...

It says on my website I have a cancellation fee but I will say that only a very small percentage of clients pay it.

so, you should require deposits and refuse bookings from those who don't pay them. There will be clarity that way. The people who refuse to pay deposits won't book you but you won't get complaints from those that do and you'll never be completely out of pocket even if cancellations are a pain in the ass. It just comes down to whether the money gained from deposits offsets any lost bookings. I have no idea. People have different philosophies so maybe it's less frustrating to cater to those who share yours and leave the others to other providers. Less stressful in any case.

I never pay deposits but I totally understand and empathize with those who ask for them even if my preferences don't align with theirs.

If I were to see SP's from LL or other no so reliable sources, I would be very cautious.

After all, we are not paying months in advance, usually it is a few days before the actual encounter. I don't recommend sending a deposit if the person didn't ask for one because it can feel like we're being pressured, but I get what you're saying.

It is fairly easy to see if somebody is legit or not but I've heard clients bitch and moan about one well known provider out of many they booked who cancelled the date and didn't refund the deposit. I can understand why it's upsetting if the amount is very big. But I don't think that is common. And honesty as a client you should be willing to pay a cancellation fee if the provider doesn't ask for a deposit.

It's not always new clients who cancel or don't show up, unfortunately. Some clients get really comfortable and keep switching dates or changing the time. Really often it's these same types of people who cancel. And once again even if I get a reference from a well known provider, that doesn't mean the client will be respectful to me, and vice versa.

It's very common. Every monger with any experience that I know has lost a deposit at some point or another. It's not a question of if but when for most people. I know multiple people who have lost multiple deposits.

Totally agree. That's just courtesy and common decency. The amount of the fee may be a point of contention though. Do clients try to negotiate cancellation fees with you or do they most commonly simply not pay them?

1) Sending a deposit is pointless. There are providers who will see you without it, and you can go to an agency who doesn't require it. Zero point to send a deposit, ever

2) Getting upset at a SW is pointless. I understand that as a monger, if you have a sour experience, it's very annoying.

My method to deal getting an unsatisfactory experience with a provider is simple. I just never see her again, that's it.

I remember her face so I'll know who she is. Therefore I just never book her again. It's really that easy

From St. Mathieu street to Peel, all closed! Ridiculous.

I'm so tired of it. Why can't they just finish it already???

I walk by the several closed off city blocks on St.Catherine and for many days, I see no construction happening. Clearly the corrupt Construction workers are not in a hurry to finish the job...all the while they're hurting all the businesses along St.Catherine.

What a joke!

I bet it won't be even finished this year.
