I'm glad I landed on this thread and read this because I would have not assumed a 'thank you' post would be considered frivolous. On other boards, it's quite common and I would even say it's actually part of standard etiquette to write a short 'thank you'.. oh well... different board, different rules... all good, as long as I know.
And I do agree that postings by providers should be kept to a minimum in the reviews section. But whenever posting in another's review, a respectful thing the sp can do is to not include the signature text in their post. There is an option to remove it from individual posts right below the 'submit reply' button (additional options -- miscellaneous options -- remove check for 'show your signature' -- then 'submit message' -- & voila!
