I spent the holidays there, and don’t regret it at all. Only issue was obviously the bars being closed and the restaurants closed at the end of my trip as well.
I flew in and flew out no problem. I always bring a binax Emed COVID test to complete the day before flying back. I was boosted in early December so I had no worries really, but that’s just my opinion.
I still walked around the city a lot, and had a good time. The border guy asked me a couple of questions returning to the US but this is for air travel.
Reason for my visit and how long. He inquired if by myself and the amount of cash I carried, then he asked why I chosed Canada lol.. I said I like it here, it’s the truth. That’s all.
First of all it's silly to compare Covid rates in the US and Canada given that our laws are allowing small business to stay open so they can survive and not shut down. The political leadership in the US has quietly made the decision that if allowing small businesses to survive as opposed to being crushed means higher Covid rates, then so be it. They want the US economy to survive.
Second, Walmart can be safely shopped at and I did so last week. I bought 8 65 watt ceiling flood lights for $22. Walmart brand. Where else can you do that when the lights go out? I also bought 6 pairs of Reebok ankle socks I think it was $9. Where else can you do this? If you guys want to pay through the nose for athletic socks be my guest. No wonder why we have threads on this board complaining about not having enough money to see escorts. Stop living like Kings on these kinds of purchases and maybe you will. Shop with responsibility!!!'

I’m planning a trip up a week from today, my first trip abroad since the craziness started. I think the Canada entry part is clear (PCR test, vaccine passport and ArriveCAN). Just got my 3rd jab so I’m not too worried about getting it if I’m exposed. I’m less clear about re entry to the states. I need an antigen test? These are getting hard to find around here. What’s the availability in Quebec? The site says Canadian border may require me to have a test on arrival and a quarantine plan. I assume testing is rare if I have a negative PCR within 72 hours of arrival and they will accept my hotel as a quarantine plan if needed? Any other things I should consider? Attitude of border officials? Thanks to all who posted before.
I was in Montreal recently just in time to enjoy the curfew. It wasn't that bad, I ordered in food and invited ladies over to keep me company. 
Plus the massage places remained open since they are essential services ! This trip's tally included 8 "hobby" sessions, 10 total. Spent about $1900 US.

Still a bit below historical average due to a couple of unexpected disappointments from Euphoria, but I appreciate they accommodated a few outcall requests. XO still seems almost exclusively incall, unfortunately. And their top girls can be difficult to book. I'll be back but probably not until second half of this year, after I make a few trips South.

Cababusco - I hope your trip will be safe and the girls are always fun up there! Here is my experience with COVID travel to Montreal:
I made three trips to Montreal since the border reopened. I went in Sept/Oct/Nov. My first two trips I did not have to get a random test done at the border (I drive across). However, my last trip I was given a self test at the border. It needed to be completed within 24 hours of my arrival. It was pretty simple. Someone watches you complete your test on the phone. You leave your test at the hotel front desk and a courier picks it up. I have a friend who drove across in October and had to random test at the border. He also visited again in November and was given the self test to do at the hotel. Although I have not visited lately, it seems like they are giving all travelers “a random test”
. They will accept your hotel as a quarantine plan.Border officials had the same typical attitude after they check your test results, ArriveCAN info, and passport. Where are you going? What are your plans there? Are you visiting anyone? Do you have any drugs, weapons with you? Have you ever been arrested before? I always have some type of activity to tell them. Going to the Canadiens game, visiting the casino, shopping, cycling (I bring my bike with me). I had plans to visit this week, as I was going to the Bruins/Habs game. Since they don’t allow fans at the games and moved the game to Boston anyways, I canceled my trip. I wasn’t sure if I would face more scrutiny from the border officials because I don’t really have any reason to visit other than spending time with escorts, lol. Too cold to go outside, bars are closed, indoor dining closed, curfew 10pm-5am. In between sessions, I would be stuck in my hotel room.
Returning to the states, if you drive, you don’t need any test to come back. If you fly, you need a negative pcr or antigen test taken one calendar day before your flight back. I flew back home from the Caribbean last week. The airline will ask for your test results. I have never flown to the US from Montreal. So I can’t speak for how easy or hard it may be to get a test done and results back within one day in Montreal.
Seemed mostly normal operation. During the curfew they took last appointments around 8pm in order to finish up and get home by 10pm. That might change back to normal next week. No mask with the girl I was with. The one peeve is they were saying only 30 minute sessions and when I pushed they said max 45 minutes. I've known that guy for years and I did my best to nicely shame him on limiting me; once I asked how much extra to get the hour he caved and gave it to me. I think it depends how busy it is.
Thanks to everybody who shared their info. I decided to postpone the trip. Getting a PCR for a reasonable price 72 hours before flight turned out to tricky, the free pop ups in NYC were saying 5-8 days. And the shut down and curfews in MTL were also an issue. Still hoping that I can make a trip before hockey season is over. Also I didn’t want to get trapped in Quebec if my antigen test came back positive either.
I'm planning a trip around the COVID positivity rates for NY and Quebec. When they get to a certain number I'm in. Don't know what that number is yet, but the northeast is doing much better than the rest of the country so hopefully sooner rather than later. In the next few weeks testing will become a little easier and I'll take the drive across. Wouldn't consider a flight to Montreal or any international location for at least a few months. No PCR test to get back into the states if you drive so there's less of a chance getting stuck abroad.
Today I spoke to a friend of mine who flew to Europe in late November and ended up catching Covid and not being able to get out of the country he was in. He just got back to the USA. If you travel you roll the dice on not getting Covid and his dice roll was not a lucky one. Just make sure you have extra funds to stay in a hotel up to 30 days if needed and also make sure your health insurance in Canada is in order in case you have to get hospitalized.
Some politicians have realized that authoritarianism is a fail and very bad for society and the economy. Starting next Thursday England will be dropping masks and vaccine passports. Bars are open there. Everything is open there. In Quebec everything is still closed and we are still wearing a mask after 2 years. Lego the dictator is trying to blame on the unvaccinated for the failures of the government. Lol Some of you Americans thinking to hobby in Quebec I would suggest to avoid it. Better go to England, even Ontario is better. Ontario will begin loosening restrictions by January 31 beginning with restaurants at 50% capacity. There is rumors that gyms will be allowed to reopen. Big Papa Lego who thinks he is a big shot still wants to keep a tight grip on us and keep us grounded like little children.

just drove up to montreal today and nothing unusual at the border. all my three trips across the border since reopening have been uneventful. i had my documents in order and he just asked the standard questions. made a trip to my favorite massage parlor and it was as good as ever.

You probably don't read newspapers, watch the news on TV or on the net or listen to radio. If you did, you would learn that the Health System is exploding because of Covid mainly because of the non-vaccinnated.
The system has been deficient since at lreast two decades, long before Legault became Prime Minister. The pandemic began in March 2020 and he was elected in October 2018.

Not our fault. It is all on the government. I already told you this before, Lego had 21 months to do something and all is still the same if not worse. That mess that happened in the CHLSDs is all on the government and the inquiry is still ongoing and they made a number of discoveries on. Instead Lego was more concerned with with Bill 21 and Bill 96 and the OQLF (enforcing French and Nationalism). Maybe you are the one living in a cave. Lego knows he fucked up and threw Arruda under the bus and is distracting ppl from himself onto others (typical government) by putting the blame on the unvaccinated. The ratio of beds to the total population from the 80s to today is a third of what it was. Wake up! So far Quebec has the highest deaths per capita, we pay the highest taxes but get the least in return (roads with potholes and a poor fragile bare bones healthcare system.) One of the recommendations of the inquiry into the CHLSDs deaths is the healthcare system needs a complete overhaul. Something does not add up. And I blame all of them including the previous government with Gaetan Barrette who kept on cutting the budget and adding more rules and redtape to make the healthcare workers work harder. Lego is the same cheap government that does not think schools needs air purifiers. Covid is and will be endemic just like the flu and face it will require the medical system to be expanded to accommodate the demand especially with the way the Federal government has a policy of mass immigration.
