The recent step down of our Governor General ( a useless post that costs us millions ) shows we need to trim our government. To put it politely she was a real cu*t to her staff, all complained and she resigned. The GG post is a lifetime wage, she gets $149 K a year for life plus other perks.

Agree....what a disgrace and waste of money ...and another preuve du mauvais jugement de notre PM qui a fait défaut quant aux antécédents de sa GG.....BUT no choice...we have to live with...forget about l'abolition du poste..cela prendrait un amendement constitutionnel avec l'accord de TOUTES LES PROVINCES to get rid of....it will never happen...BUT at least plz revoyer les conditions de charge asap....

That post is as useless as having the Queen as Head of State.
Senators are another bunch of useless twits that taxpayers are dolling out money for their life time for absolutely no return on their investment.
Senators are appointed by the Governor General on the advice of the Prime Minister, basically nothing more than a reward system for brown nosers and if they are 62 years of age and have 5 years of service they get a lifetime pension, are you fucking serious how many jobs offer a lifetime pension after 5 years.
Time to get rid of this type of costly tradition and reward BS.

She could remind Trudeau that we have , by law , a four year election cycle and insist that he respects it . There is NO real reason for an early election . As Governor General she has the power to deny disolution , or progation of Parliament for party political reasons . Perhaps she has the guts to use these powers ?
