Omg people attack me all the time, people argue with me on this website since 2019. The ignore button exists for a reason.

This is valid for anyone reading this btw not just you.

It’s merb pour l’amour de dieu. I don’t know why any of you take it so seriously, it’s just a forum. C’est vraiment lourd quand les conversations s’étirent sur plusieurs pages et que ça tourne en rond comme ça. Nothing is serious here

well yeah i agree with you lol this conversation really is getting old and i regret i've made the mistake of participating in an unnecessarily heated exchange.
i did try to change the subject by mentioning my new books

Few reasons:
- Prosecutors' Strategy: Prosecutors chose not to call Giuffre to the stand to avoid subjecting a high-profile witness to intense cross-examination aimed at attacking her credibility.
- Defense Focus on Credibility: Maxwell’s defense team heavily criticized Giuffre’s allegations, attacking her credibility to suggest other witnesses were also unreliable.

But mainly at the time of the criminal trial, Giuffre was focused on her own civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew for sexual assault. Which she won.
Could the sex slave Virginia Giuffre have had major credibility issues?;)
(Could she have been ... an exaggerating fabulist?)
Could it be that she was a mendacious storyteller?
So much so, that the prosecutors didn't even believe her!
Could it be that there were so many inconsistencies, inaccuracies and exaggerations in her tall tales ... that the prosecutors were deathly afraid for her to be cross examined under oath in a court of law?
She would have been blown up!
Would Ghislaine Maxwell's defense attorney with a probing cross examination have, indeed, exposed (destroyed) Virginia Giuffre ...as nothing more than a mendacious, bimbo storyteller... who made it up as she went along?
(There's gotta be a very good reason why the poster child of the Epstein/Maxwell sex trafficking enterprise ... was MIA during the Maxwell trial!)
Ya think?
Like I said: There's a very good reason(s) why the mendacious
storyteller was nowhere to be found during Ghislaine Maxwell's trial: 1) It would have emerged during a probative cross ... that the dragooned sex slave became a recruiter HERSELF!
(Wait for a jury to hear THAT!)
YIKES!
During a probative cross examination ... it would have also emerged that the dragooned sex was paid $15,000 to f##k Prince Andrew!
(Wait for a jury to hear THAT!)
YIKES x2!:eek::eek:

Can you share one discovery?
The autobiography of Virginia Giuffre lollllll another autobiography I read recently that I really enjoy was Julia Fox's.

The last book I read is called "Swallows" by Natsuo Kirino. She's a fantastic writer. Right now I am reading "A certain hunger" by Chelsea Summers.

And you?

A novel Fever Dreams by Samantha Schweblin and Rat Girl, memoir by Kristin Hersh. Loved both of them. The Kirino book look really interesting, thanks.

Another random thought : movie adaptation of books are often either fantastic or terrible.. I always feel slightly guilty when I prefer the movie version and dislike the book, I don't know why

Same! I tried to enjoy the snow and winter energy this year but since I came back from vacation I've been really excited for the summer

interesting. on the (more or less) same topic i learned to appreciate movie adaptations that are diffrent from the book, more than the opposite. Blade Runner comes to mind as an example.

There are great movies made based on terrible books so no need to fell guilty! But I know what you mean. I feel a bit gulity when I watch a movie based on a classic book but I've never read the classic book, like Lawrence of Arabia or Howard's End.

About 15/20% of the adds i see on you tube are from the government of canada and not particularly well targeted, not sure what they want from me. They didn't ask for my opinion but if they did i would much rather they put this money in roads :)

I don't really envision myself picking up Lawrence of Arabia or Howard's End as books anytime soon lol
...
Then there are controversies. Like the multiple adaptations of Wuthering Heights. The recent one having been the subject of major arguments online for reasons I won't name here.

I agree! (Scrolling up)

I like when an adaptation of a book assigns a different meaning to the original story and takes liberties. Comparing the David Lynch version of Dune to the recent one with that annoying French actor is really interesting

As for this forum not being serious yeah nothing should be taken seriously here yet a lot of people do lol .. but I'd rather not pursue this conversation at least not in public ;)

I did not read Virginia Giuffre's (ghost-written) book!
A few quick questions:
Was it a predictable 400 page tales of woe, victimhood whine?
Did she take ownership of the decisions she made as an adult?
(Or, was it always somebody else's fault?)
Did she ever address in the book why during her 3 years of sexual servitude and supposedly being held captive against her will by Epstein and Maxwell ... she never attempted to escape?
Did she ever admit to being a shameless recruiter ... herself?
As the poster child of sexual abuse ...did she ever address why she was a no-show and MIA ... during the sex trafficking trial of the century?
