I dont think declaring my income is really the point here. This is already undergoing on my side but building a credit takes time . Im mainly asking where they find their appartments and what do they tell the landlord , do they have to do credit check because now most landlord ask for it and it is annoying .

If you declare some income, like 18k a year saying you do cleaning, self employed etc.. what’s wrong with having a credit check? If you have a bank acct. no significant depts.
Because it takes time to do so . Credit doesnt clear overnight and i need to move out soon . So since that aspect has become the main topic of my actual question . I am just saying that im already working on that part but need to find another solution for the imminent situation . Therefore asking the girls how they managed .
Usually they have a client who can help them out on a short term basis. Some clients have appt to rent which are empty and they would be willing to rent them out short term to their fav for a nominal fee. I’ve seen some do this myself.
Why don't you AIRBNB for now? You can find good places at great prices. You can send messages to the owners and strike a "monthly" deal. They don't care about your credit they'll even take cash. I have a good friend (a SB) who's done this and had a beautiful apt in Griffintown.
It's not so simple to declare income from a cash business. Revenu Quebec or the CRA might well get it into their heads to estimate your expenditures and compare them to your declared income. An audit is expensive, extremely time-consuming and worrying (they can freeze or even seize all your assets and good luck while the years pass trying to get them back), even if you are 100% honest. A Revenu Quebec auditor confided to me at a party that he received 2% of what he collected and his statement was confirmed from multiple sources, so don't count on objectivity and honesty from them.
Amanda, look at sublets for the short-term solution. In this case, you will avoid dealing with a landlord. Put adds on the media that is visible to students in university campuses and offering to pay cash in full in advance. Get notary certified receipt to be secure. Sublets are not difficult to get starting from late April when students start to go for vacations. When you will be living in buildings occupied by students make friends and starting with the new school year rent a large multibedroom apartment with them. You will be not the principle tenant so no worry about landlords. New generation of intelligent students are not judgmental so no worry if they somehow get to know your source of income. On top of this it is a great crowd to be with.

I don't know if Amanda has a lot of "stuff" or furniture, but what about renting at an inexpensive hotel for a month or 2. When on short notice I have stayed at Hotel Villa on St. Catherine for around $35 - $40 per night. (After May the price shoots up) Yeah, it's an old 2 star, but very clean and very close to everything. For a month it might cost you $1000 - $1200. At least it could buy you some time if all else fails.
I know that newstar have monthly rates which are very affordable (less than 1000 even with a kitchenette). Granted, not the best hotel, but better than being homeless.

Im even considering posting ads on kijiji and stuff explaining my situation, no lies, everything. I dont plan on working from home anyways so I dont see why my job would be an issue.

I have. If I ever buy a condo later in life I will ONLY rent it to people for whom it is more challenging to find a roof (sex workers, queer people, people of color, people with money but no proof of income, people with illness or addiction, etc). I think the average person is privileged enough when jt comes to housing and I really want to one day do my part to help those who face the difficulty I (and lots of others) face regarding that. It's insane and when I talk about it people usually dont understand or imagine how really challenging and scary it is because they haven't ever been there. The amount of times I had to tell someone that I know how to use the internet and find ads after they think sending a random link to an ad for an appartment helps (Ive probably seen the ad and got refused already, love, haha).....
Personally when I was working as an escort I declared as self-employed. There's no problem for income Canada / QC to declare you as services provider. i’ve done this 5 or 6 years. As for the rent and landlord .. I was telling them that I was self-employed .. they never asked more details. of course i am respectful and i always been reasonable in the quantity of clients i was seeing per day. None of my neighbors ever complained about anything. I guess if you make your things right you shoudnt have problem to rent and stay anywhere.
