Has anyone seen this movie? I havn't but you can see the whole movie just by watching the trailer...

It mirrors what the media talks about around F1 time. Young girl ends up being 'recruited' and ending up working around F1 time...

Although the problem of young runaways ending up in the hands of pimps is a real one, this movie is a dramatization of a vey thin slice of such a complex issue, it saddens me that people watch this without knowing the flip side of the coin.

I watched it and I don’t think it’s realistic. Maybe some SPs could comment. I don’t think it’s that « easy » and also, of course the clients are portrayed badly.

I have watched the movie and I would say it’s only accurate from the point of view of a girl who is doing this job against her will. That’s also why the clients are represented badly, they want to emphasize the fact that the young girl is a victim and that the movie isn’t promoting/glamourizing this profession.

Noémie dit oui and Fugueuse are for teenagers in my opinion. They seem to think being a sex worker at a very young age is fun and easy money.

I don't need to see the movie to know that is anti-prostitution propaganda.

How can you tell? Just look at some comments from the director, for example:

"En faisant des recherches sur ce thème, j’ai appris qu’au Canada, l’âge moyen d’entrée dans la prostitution est de 14-15 ans. C’est cette statistique effarante qui m’a convaincu de concentrer mon récit autour d’une adolescente qu’on incite à se prostituer."

One the most enduring anti-prostitution myths is a statement such as this one "...in Canada the average age for entering for entering prostitution is 14-15..." That's absurd, because it's obvious to anyone who has personal knowledge of the business that most escorts don't start until they are at least 18-20 years old. But for the sake of argument, let's say that 50% of all prostitutes start at an average age of 20 (probably it's older than that). For the "average age" of entering prostitution to be 15, that means that the other 50% must start at an average age of 10 years old! It's absurd to believe that!

Are there girls who start or have started working at very young ages such as 14 or 15? Certainly yes and that's a problem. But if someone like the director claims that 14-15 is the average age for girls to enter prostitution, then she undermines the credibility of her movie. I won't watch it because it's just propaganda.

Still have to watch Fugeuse one day and i will probably watch this too at some point but this is not surprising to see them focuss more on the bad side than the good. I really doubt that a Quebec movie would be made about a succesfull story of an escort, unless its actually funded, wirtten and directed by peoples in the industry. Sometimes i brainstorm ideas for movies when im in my bed not able to sleep. Im not a good writter when it comes to write professionally so writing a book is really not something i could do but i always have these cool ideas of a movie concept about different things and the other day i had that cool story about 2 friends (1 man, 1 woman) where one was an escort and they live as roomate. I was not set on where the story would start (are they friends for a while, or did one of them answer an add for a roomie) but at some point their relationship develop and they have to go trough some "stuff" related to the industry etc. I tought it could really work but wich company would fund this? Especially here... lol
