Pre-historic times in the hobby world. ( before the internet ) and strange encounters

I started to think about the hobby before the internet and MERB. It was a hit and miss type of endeavor as there were no pics in the ads. Many ads in the Mirror and the Voir. What are your stories about people and places long gone?

There were a lot of adds for massage way out in the middle of nowhere. I once went to see a lady in Laval on the other side of the Pie IX bridge but way east on the island. It was an isolated house. The lady was past mid 40s and really had no
experience doing massage. On the first visit it was just massage and HJ, the second visit FS was allowed and on the third I got anal. Every time I called she too the appointment except for once from May to October. I was there at once a week when I was close for business I had to do. At just the price of a massage back then I got the full package. I would think that her low price would bring her a lot of clients. The strange thing was that she was lactating and on two occasions she was drenched in sweat after the encounter. Which make me believe that she was going through menopause and needed pleasing. She probably only a few clients to keep things manageable and to satisfy herself.

Yes, the Mirror with their escort ads on the back pages was a major way of finding an SP. All you had was the girls descripton and your own imagination to rely on. But I think back then you really relied on the booker and the reputation of the agency. I was lucky enough to stumble upon Asservissante back then which really got the ball rolling with me getting into this hobby. I don't think I ever had a strange encounter as dealing with the agency kinda filtered those experiences away for me.

This was New York in the 70s and early 80s before AIDS hit the newspapers or was a large issue. Lots of students. And bareback sex was prevalent as they were all on birth control. They expected a $20 tip for no condom. I met girls from NYU, Columbia, some where undergrad and some where grad students. I was their age or a little older. And the scene was open. There were open hawkers who gave out leaflets to guys. I did not participate too much back then because I either had a girlfriend or was working on getting my next girlfriend after a breakup.

But the few times I visited these masked massage parlors in NYC, I found it to be an oasis of hobbying pleasure. How was the scene in Montreal in the 70s and 80s? Was there a publication where you got most of places advertising? In NYC, mostly Screw magazine or the Village Voice, which has replaced backpage. There were a few other publications like Action magazine. I think they opened in the 1980s or maybe 1970s? and closed shop in the 1990s because of the internet. They were regional, I believe.
