I found some old playboy from 10+ years ago in my stuff lately. Think i have 3 or 4, i took a look at the whole thing and realize how much stuff there is in that magazine wich i couldn't care less. I clearly bough those only for the celebrity nuidity. On one side its true porn and nudity is so easily accessible on the internet these days, but on the other hand i know i wouldn't buy playboy for the articles... Playboy always meant nudity... What i prefered was celebs appearing in it personally... On the other hand i always hated the heavily photoshoped photos tough.

Look behind you.
The jokes were always better than the photos.

My personal favorite was a cartoon where a dad is smoking a pipe and meeting his daughter's frightened boyfriend for the first time. The dad says "So, Missy tells us you are a premature ejaculator." Can you imagine the look on the kid's face and how pissed a wife and teenage daughter would be if some dad really did that for fun.

Hilarious, I am someone who would use that.

I used to collect old issues, as far back as the mid sixties, fairly seriously. Yes this used to be a thing! At one time they attracted very good writers, for example I think Stephen King's first published work was there. There were very interesting interviews, Robin Williams, even Jimmy Carter.

There was a clear drop in the quality of the magazine in the nineties. It was like the owners decided to increase profits by cutting costs and getting rid of all the expensive talent. All the women became cookie cutter versions of some weird template.

With so much online it is hard to see many magazines lasting, of any kind.
