Anyone make the drive up recently?

It was quite a treacherous drive the other day up here from Albany. Roads were not cleared and constant snow and refreezing. The typical 3 hour drive took 6 hours because everyone was going 30mph. I skidded out once on the way here on a patch of black ice. The snowplows don’t seem to be on the road.

I have to make the drive home this weekend. And it’s supposed to be freezing rain.

Anyone else driving up from the US recently? How are the conditions still? I looked at weather cams and it looks like they’re still not clearing it

Yea I was in the Adirondack Mountains on the HW87 Monday that is my favourite highway! .....and the Ice rain became rain then snow and then FLASH FREEZE making black death ice. I doubt any freezing rain this weekend it will be so cold and for sure in the mountains it will be snowing and even if not much snow the super cold temperatures will make the roads dangerous cause the salt won't work too well in the extreme cold. It will not be the ideal weekend for full speed driving I doubt. That Mountain drive is unpredictable.
