Looks like a cadre of strippers will be going on strike during Formula 1 weekend in Montreal.

The article linked here, discusses that the club dancers don't earn a salary, and would like see the strip club industry to change that, improve their pay structure situation. Plus, many dancers would like to see safer working conditions in the club.

What's everyone's thoughts on this?

Article says they pay $40-$100 a night to dance and sometimes allegedly make less than that....

Thats really hard to believe lol
How would you know if that’s hard to believe?
Ever been a stripper before?

100$ house fee is very common. Easy to leave with a loss on a slow night.

Those fees are usually at à gaffe clubs and they know they are making cash there that is why it is so high.

Ill be honest ...

First time i heard dancers had to pay themselves to work in a club i was stunned...

I mean i expected the club to pay them at least a basic fee. But i was told they actually had to pay a house fee.

That is wild...

Im not gonna pretend im a businessman and know how to run a club but lets say a dancer has a slow night...she could actually own money to the club. Its wrong to me.

If you bring dancers pay them...

Then i dunno ...if you wanna charge 1/2$ out of every 20$ dances in the booths then its another story but club should pay them to go on stage not the other way around.

I had stripper friends that would often go back home in the negative. They were gorgeous, anytime we would go out, men were all over them

So what I don’t believe is that the people not making money are ugly (I’ve seen a girl on TikTok say that)

I might be wrong, but I think there are 2 types of strippers:

- full time: that have to stay in the club "x" number of hours, pole dance "x" times per night, they have to work "slow time" shifts like afternoons or sundays. But they don't pay a fee to be there

- freelancers: they go whenever they want to go, usually at peak times when there are lots of customers (friday/ saturday nights) , but they have to pay a fee to work

Yes they still do pay a fee to be there...

For me, i had no idea the dancers in these clubs to pay a fee.

I just assumed they show up for work at the club and the club takes a percentage of their private dances money they make and thats it.

You've never been to a strip club?

Usually what we "see" is the lady paying the door/cubicle man a fee if for your first time. When you repeat it's skipped.
But if it's another lady she pays a fee.

Now that is a strategy! Strike in a business that is in diminishing demand due to high cost in uncertain economic times. Do it to bikers that control the biz, that may whoop yo bitch ass.

I think you may be referring to the private dance fee. From my experience at Downtown, the girls pay a $5 fee every time they bring a customer to the back. So at Downtown, it's $25 for the first song and $20 for every song after that.

In addition to that fee, the dancers also pay to get into the club itself.

I'm a little nosy so the first time I was in a strip club alone, I got to chatting with one of the dancers about their bar fees. One told me that the earlier you arrive, the lower the fee. If it's very early and there are few girls, they may even get in for free. Some of the girls that know how to sell and trust in their ability to make a lot of money will arrive late in the evening when the fee is high but the club is busy.

What is wild is some thinking they should not pay a bar fee, get an hourly wage and collect all money for dances??? Loool That is delusional and is typical with the far-left. A stripclub is a for profit business, the way they charge clients a cover charge girls get charged a bar fee. How would that even work?? If they want to be treated as employees then like any employees all dances sold the funds will go to the house. Then the girls will be paid their hourly wage. Girls will have no more motivation to perform better to please their client, they will no longer be interested to seduce them to the cabins. Will there be a performance based quota to meet? If not the the girls that sell more dances will subsidize the ones not selling?

If the girl did not make money that will motivate her to do better and go the extra mile to please her customer. From what I seen they are making good money on the weekends, lots of simps dropping tons of money on straight dances.

The clubs got a reason for scheduling otherwise all the girls will just work on the busiest nights. They got to spread out the girls through the operation hours, not all of us work business hours. Many can go during the week only or go in early. I seen it too often girls coming in at 11pm. The guy that works dayshifts he cannot wait around till midnight.

About $100 bar fee, this is usually at à gaffe clubs we all know why that is the case. Most clubs charge $30 and fancy gentlemen clubs like Chez Paree and Kingdom might charge $60. The girls that like to come in late will for sure be charged higher bar fees and I agree with it.

Between you and I, lol I doubt much girls will participate in this to strike on the busiest and most profitable weekend of the year. I did ask some of my regulars, none of them are interested.
