If all you said was true then why have you in the past tried to use polls and members votes to reverse decisions against you?????????? And if as you point out this is an escort review board then what gives anyone the right to rail against seeing escorts or the utter futility of seeing them. And if the mods are the ultimate judges of what belongs on this board, as YOU point out, then who is anyone to question what subjects they allow. As for my views, they are too complicated for most members on this board to comprehend, including some as smart as you. I like getting deep into subjects and while I realize the futility of this "hobby", I accept that it a passage of my life where I learned a lot.

The Mods have total discretion. If you can't accept this, then you guys have the problem. My opinion is that this thread is useless and grossly biased. Interesting how it was started right after my ban was lifted.

Is this going to turn into another thread focused solely on GG? IF it is, it will soon be closed and removed.

All bans are at the discretion of the moderator who imposes the ban. If a moderator feels the time served has been sufficient for the member to have learned a lesson, it is his right to lift it as Mod 5 did in this case.

In reference to other members who have been mentioned in this thread:

Elf will never be reinstated here on MERB. He exists only to cause problems on a board and contributes absolutely nothing to a board's community. Even his reviews are not to be trusted as he has been known to invent them out of nothing but thin air. His back-channel antics are second to none and he loves to deceive trusting members who eventually pay the price for their trust in someone who has no idea of what loyalty or truth is.

Amelie has no chance of being reinstated as long as every second post she makes elsewhere is used to take a shot at MERB. Not to mention her own personal web site which is used to attack this board on an ongoing basis. This former member and advertiser has a lot of maturing to do before anyone will ever consider lifting her ban.

Ziggy has never been permanently banned on MERB. He left the board on his own accord and the decision to return was his own also.

Now as far as GG is concerned: He has been a worthwhile member in the past and can continue to be into the future. Many do not agree with his views and cannot keep themselves from flaming him and goading him into flame wars. If the members of MERB can confine themselves to attacking his posts instead of the poster, there will be no problems with him being on the board. If members have a problem with this, I suggest they use the ignore function and save themselves and the mods a lot of trouble.

And Maxima, I was not aware that MERB needed a savior. Last time I checked, MERB was doing quite well, thank you.

Now if someone wishes to get this thread back on topic, be my guest. If anyone has any questions pertaining to a particular moderator's actions, I suggest they discuss it with the moderator concerned by PM.

Again, this poll is meaningless because it doesn't matter what the collective members think about bans. It is totally up to the Mods to decide how long to ban someone and whether or not to lift a suspension.

As long as it was established at the moment of the ban cause at the timeit certainely got on someone (if not) many's nerves and I don't see why it should go again and again into the broken record processus of having the ''let's see how it goes this time'' till people get pissed again and again to the level of another due ban.

I know...but it is well known that one specific poster claimed that, unless reinstated, his permanent ban would be the trigger for the downfall of Merb. His "reality" may be completely out of whack, but IMHO, the harmony of Merb will depend on how he perceives (not how Mods see it) his role in this community to be an "alpha-dog", a "sheperd" who guides us all or just a simple member like the rest of us. IMHO, the Mods reasons to reinstated him have no bearing on his obsessive "you-can't-do-without-me" behavior.

But does "learned a lesson" include the usage of duplicate handles? In this case, Mod 5 was lifting a ban while replying to a duplicate handle of the banned member.

On the April of GOF thread, some idiot posted her real first name. Here is where I htink members should be banned for good and I agree with this statement:

Reading this thread made me recall a thread started on this board nearly three years ago.

The aformentionned thread ran for over 200 posts expressing outrage at the judicial system and great concern for the safety and well-being of citizens everywhere. To date, none of the stated fears have materialized. Off course society saw to it that no one was in a position to goad, provoke, antagonize or in any way impact the decision made by the judicial system.

Today the story seems to be long forgotten.

The basic lesson that is evolving from this thread is that certain members are not willing to support the decision made by the mod(s). Not clear if the decision was made by one mod or the mods collectively. Regardless it is a decision that took courage and deserves our respect by working towards having the decision producing a positive outcome.

There is a troubling aspect to this thread. It is a prelude to vigilante action and board anarchy. The motives of some of the posters are very transparent and their past actions are well known. Simply there is an obligation to make the decision taken by the mod(s) work positively. Anything less is insufficient.

Mods, a typical example. Here's his confrontational reply to a request not to hijack from another member. Now, I'm just complaining about the "hijack" and confrontational nature of his replies. I was not attacking him as a person.
