I went to a strip club first time in November 2014. Less than 2 months later I saw my first escort. Funnily enough I didn’t discover merb until at least 2019. Discovered it by google but wasn’t sure if it was reliable. A provider told me it is ok but can be bad. Created my account in 2021. Resisted it for a long time. But post Covid it became a necessity. I could do without it precovid. First bad thing that happened is backpage going down then Covid. Then of.I found Merb looking for info on high mileage stripclubs. I started my stripclub career in 1999 when it went contact, lived in Toronto at the time. When I moved to Montreal I noticed how all the downtown stripclubs had a strict no grind rule. I started looking around for clubs that offered Toronto style lapdancing (full contact grinding). I used the stripclublist for a while then in 2005 landed on Merb. This site opened my eyes big time and I found lots of info on clubs especially the ones off island. I did not use any escort till 2009.
Love those before web 2.0 style lolI was on MERC …

made a typo and found MERB.ca
or maybe it was the other way around...
Prior to discovering the hobby i was reviewing stripclubs that i visited across Ontario & Quebec. I’d post my reviews on a couple of sites such as Stripclublist & Canbest. As time went on i preferred Canbest’s format so i pretty much began to exclusively post there also there was a lot more traffic going on there & interactions between the registered members. One day a buddy of mine asked me if i had seen the other sections on the board & i said i hadn’t. I was mostly focused on the stripclubs. He told me to take a look at the escorts section which he felt may interest me. The moment i began reading the reviews i was hooked! I was also newly single at the time (1999) after having been in a couple of long term relationships & since i wasn’t planning on entering into another commitment the timing was perfect! Finally in October of that year i finally got the nerve to see my first sp during a planned trip to Mtl. I had been planning to attend the Habs season opener against the Leafs & planned to visit & review a few of the local stripclubs during my trip. I remember posting my very first escort review & then receiving dozens of positive feedback from the members for having written such a high quality review considering i was just a beginner! Surprisingly i only returned to Mtl the following summer & finally got the nerve to see another girl on that trip. After seeing that girl i decided to change my handle to Doc Holliday & as time went on the personna took a life of its own & i started seeing more & more ladies as my trips to Mtl increased considerably. If I recall correctly there was a small circle of regular posters on The Big Doggie (TBD) Montreal section and one of them had told me that MERB was being born. The ones I remember were:
Doc Holliday
Cool Amadeus
Cloudsurf
Trav
Trairunner66
AlexK
The same group of posters were regulars in a chatroom called Doc Holliday's saloon, moderated by Doc Holliday. I can't remember if it was on TBD or in the Saloon where I heard about MERB but it was from someone in this group of posters.
This must have been a conversation in the old Saloon because I have the exact same memory- being told to register my handle on the new Board before someone else did and I lost the right to use it.And then Merb was created (i figure around 2003 or 2004) and although my preference was to remain on Big Doggie someone told me that i should register my handle on Merb a.s.a.p. before someone else steals it from me.
I also believe that conversation happening in the saloon. Tridan might have been the one suggesting that we register our handle before someone else did. As for the prankster or imposter thing that happened to you the same thing happened to me a couple of times & it’s a total coincidence that i found out. One evening a well known hobbyist at the time texted & told me that he was in Mtl & would be heading to Hurley’s later if i felt like meeting him for a drink. He added “don’t ask how i know that you’re also in Mtl i just know” so i thought he was pulling my leg so i played along. By the way i wasn’t in Mtl at the time. So i said “Sure i’ll meet you at Hurley’s at around 11pm.” Then i got curious & asked him why did he believe that i was in Mtl? He laughed & replied “June told me.”This must have been a conversation in the old Saloon because I have the exact same memory- being told to register my handle on the new Board before someone else did and I lost the right to use it.
Years later after MERB exploded in popularity, I learned that a prankster was telling strippers at the Cleopatra strip club that he was EagerBeaver on MERB. I do not know what bad behavior he engaged in under my handle, but no blacklisting resulted from it.
I met this June you mentioned. I am guessing she worked at Eleganza, but I don't remember. What I do remember was I booked her for 4 hours dinner date and took her to a seafood restaurant which was on the Rene Levesque side of Complex Desjardins - across the street. It's probably not there any more. It was a big mistake. The food was not great. She ordered some seafood dish I had never heard of. It was something popular in Montreal but not the USA. Involving a seafood like conch but not exactly. Anyway, it's the only thing I remember about that date, walking back to the hotel with her and saying "that (the restaurant) was a mistake".Then i got curious & asked him why did he believe that i was in Mtl? He laughed & replied “June told me.” I remembered some girl named June being on my must-see list at the time & i had yet to even meet her. “June from #####?” i asked.
