Seriously, I think they do a fine job. Most chat board mods tend to be pretty awful, in my experience. They suffer from Little Big Man syndrome or else they're asleep. Or both, of course.

Years ago I used to hang out at Canned Beans and The Bleeding Dinosaur (as I shall call them here). CB had no moderation and allowed people to use multiple handles; the place was a zoo. TBD would take a poster, give him a moderator's badge and an alias, and then let him swagger about rapping people on the nose for minor infractions. The point was to feed the lucky fellow's self-esteem, not provide a sensible environment for discussion.

This place is leagues better and the mod gets a lot of the credit. I say that as someone who had a post deleted a couple of weeks ago and who was publicly rebuked by whichever mod did it. Call me a brown noser, but I don't really come here often enough to have a stake in working the refs. I do appreciate the sight of a job well done, especially in the emotionally disheveled world known as the escort boards.

Hmmm…..if we analyze the election situation logically, the Republicans have gained a huge amount of ground since the primaries when the Rats had a very large lead. Now that lead has become a neck and neck race. Why would I be melting down? Why would I be unhappy? Why is everybody but merbies saying the Rats are melting down? Face it…the Rats blew it!!!!! They had the whole thing wrapped up. So I can understand the illogic now being posted here and I hope you all keep it up. I understand if the Repubs win, liberalism will be dead. The Mods do an excellent job. It is thankless work but I disagree with you that this place is "leagues better" now. There are very few "interesting" or "colorful" commentators left. The glory days of Merb are long gone.

I'm sorry, but there is no place on this board for this garbage. It may apply to the poster himself, but it certainly doesn't to most I know. And, thanks to this board, I know quite a few. Some, like myself, no longer hobby but still visit the board to communicate with friends. Some hobby occasionally. None that I know has a hobbying addiction.

Since that banning, he has broken the rules, as meetoo4 points out, numerous times. And, now, less than 12 hours after his reinstatement, he's clearly shown that he hasn't changed a bit. Why are there different rules for General Gonad than there are for others? In the last 12 hours, GG has violated each of the following three board rules.

General Gonad is the board version of Donald Duck.

GG has various qualities covering the full range of human characteristics and frailties. He also has the ability to express all these traits thru self-examination, raising issues, actually doing some research to support his occasional provocative views. GG is quite adept at dealing with his unique situation and is more than willing to take on all comers, one against many if need be. On the other hand bravery in numbers does not cut it.

The other issue is that a number of board members and their friends have nothing better to do, so they amuse themselves by provoking and stalking GG. They keep copious notes and stats on all his posts. They have this delusion that their actions are somehow justified by the resulting Donald Duck like hissy fit.

Donald Duck is a valuable Disney property. Likewise, General Gonad brings value to this board.
