The Habs did look undersized but other than Josh Anderson their own big guys played small. I’m referring to Kirby Dach, among a few others. And if the coach felt size was an issue why didn’t he dress one of his bigger & most physical players in Arber Xejaj? The way i see it the Habs were totally out of gas from playing two consecutive 7-game series while the other team had two weeks off & all their players fully rested & healthy. The Habs were drained & it seems like half the team were dealing with injuries. Dobes was by far their best player!

Dach, Dobson and Slaf are big boys that should play big, if not well, we’ve seen what happens, our talent players get a beating day in day out. Pay close attention to the injury list that will come out in the season’s post mortem press conference to come.

In Lemieux’ case i could only speculate but it wouldn’t surprise me if we later found out that he was suffering from CTE, which is often seen in deceased athletes who played violent sports where concussions from physical contact happen.

So, according to David Pagnotta, the Leafs and the Habs deal that was void by the league because it came 1 minute late after the deadline was going like this:

Matthew Knies to Montreal in exchange of
Alexander Zharovsky, another prospect, (excluding Hage and Reinbacher) + 2 first round picks!

Honestly that was a heck of a deal for Hugues! Now that the Leafs has new management, I would be very surprise if they follow through since they promised Austen Matthews they wont go into a deep reconstruction.
