People keep referring to how exciting habs games are since St-Louis’ arrival behind the bench. But if having their goalie being bombarded by shots night after night is their idea of exciting hockey no wonder Ducharme tried to implement a boring, defensive-oriented system.

Sure the habs beat Toronto the other night. But the Leafs outshot them 52-18! The shots in the third period alone were 24-3 Toronto & the first period was no different!

So if this is the type of hockey habs fans want & consider ‘fun to watch’ then the next few years will likely see them missing the playoffs again. And were it not for covid this would have been the fifth consecutive year they would have missed the playoffs.

Drouin is out again & will miss the rest of the season due to surgery on his ailing wrist. The fans are exasperated and want him out. But what about Price? He still hasn’t played a single game this season & he’s not practicing again due to another mystery ailment! This guy hasn’t played an entire season in 5 years & over the past 3 out of 4 seasons he’s been the 45th worse goaltender in the league! And he’s getting a pass? Anyways no one misses him. Jake Allen is the organization’s best goaltender.

Very good point indeed. But habs fans will always be irrational! Moodswing in its fullest. It is quite evident that habs defense is their weakest part, and so far, it seems like Saint-Louis priorities are somewhere else. Although he somehow, has managed to bring the offense to a good level, If he is to stay and sign for a long term contract he will have to estblish a real defense system, as much as he hates the word "system", a real team can't hope for a winning playoff streak without it.

Agree, I'm exasperated too about Drouin and Price!
But which other teams would like to trade for these guys? Especially 5G (Price's nick name between me, Sharky and Cruiser. Lol!) @10.5M/year for the next 3 years without knowing if he would play again at the same level he was before surgery? Thanks Bergevin! (Sign)

TOTAL Brgevin disasters with 5G and Drouin, One of the worst goalies overall and gets a contract like that, he plays 1 playoff 3 good series and people go nuts again as "Best in the world " bullshit, then of course in the finals he goes, people look at me, I'm one of the worst...
So he he sits down and collects 10M a year ( 4 more years) while excelling doing TikTok videos, what a waist.

As for Drouin we got nothing, we just gave away a top prospect and the guy wins 2 cups in two years or so, Puta lover on top of that.

Drouin, has been a major head case everywhere he's been in the league. He's better off resting his wrist rather than doing what he's currently doing with it in his spare time!!!...lol!

And Price we nicknamed him Mr 5G because he makes about $5 Grand every 5 hours...lol!...and like Doc said it's been 5 years Price hasn't played a full season!

Habs lost again tonight & gave up 46 shots to Florida. I was going over their past 5 games & they’ve been giving up an average of 46 shots a game! This is absolutely crazy! Can someone please remind coach St-Louis that wide open hockey has no place in this league if you want to win half your games & you have to play some defence also?

If this keeps up Allen & Montembault will both have nervous breakdowns & there’s not a chance Carey Price will ever want to play this season!

Anderson & Hoffman playing like they’ve always played: showing up for 2 out of 5 games & tonight there was zero effort on their part. And people criticize Drouin? At least Drouin has only a year left to go on his unproductive contract!

Ça ne sera pas facile Gaby mais de mon côté je ne suis pas déçu si le Ch ne remporte pas bcp de points d'ici la fin de la saison ;).

Why? I’ve tried the lottery simulator many times & whoever is in last place only wins the lottery 2 out of 5 times. And considering that the last place team only has a 16% chance of picking first finishing last isn’t the big prize it once was & in reality is extremely embarrassing!

No one remembers who finished second-last but everyone remembers who was in last place.

5G: Lets clarify that when the world started using 5G, Price was one of the first users who took advantage of
the new system ...big time...by giving up 5 GOALS per game.
The thing about Price isn’t just his massive contract that will still have four years left to go after this season. It’s the fact he’ll be in his mid 30’s next season. It’s the fact he has a permanently damaged body. It’s the fact he has long had issues with substance abuse (i’ve known about them for many years). It’s the fact he’s been among the worst goaltenders in the league over the past 4-5 years. It’s the fact he has no durability & can barely be counted on to play more than fifty games a season now. But more importantly: he would much prefer playing elsewhere than in Montreal. His heart is elsewhere & he’s likely lost his drive to be the best. He seems unhappy.

Sure he can still be counted on to be a key component in the playoffs. But i’m afraid that this team will very likely miss the playoffs next season & likely the season after & let’s face it: he’ll likely be playing his final years if he’s still in the league.

We made the playoffs few years back and even won few cups when NO ONE was expecting...but we had a goalie, what was his name ???

With 5G, we missed few playoffs or exited the first round very quickly although we had some good teams, even finished first in the conference at one point but knocked out in the first round because of. poor goaltending.

5G if he shows up, you have to play him, can't have a 10M backup watching a rookie at 1M and learn from him.
Also he has to just show up so he can collect the10M ...

I was listening to one of the habs talk shows the other day & someone mentioned that St-Louis is currently running a country club atmosphere which players love but that he’ll likely get more serious next season or he risks losing the team. The fans haven’t been critical of him yet since this season was already lost months ago but fans & the tough local media will not tolerate another losing season like this current one.
