Turn

The other day i didn't know what to watch so i turned on Netflix and decided to give "Turn" a try. I must admit that i really liked it and the positive comments i heard about that series are justified. I'm now on episode 4.

By the way, i watched two new series last week and was very impressed by them. The first one is "Designated Survivor" and the other one is "Pitch". I can't wait to watch their upcoming episodes this week. Both very entertaining.

Timeless

Last night i watched a new tv show called "Timeless" and i really liked it. Last night's pilot episode dealt with 3 people going back in time inside a newly-invented 'time machine' in order to find a criminal from the present who went back to the day the Hindenberg went down in Lakehurst, New Jersey. I loved the twist at the end and can't wait for the next episode!

It's still early to say, but the pilot for HBO's Westworld was really promising! The show has a ridiculously high budget, so visually, it's quite pretty. Anthony Hopkins is apparently still alive and acting.

It's based on Westworld the film, and it's basically about a Wild West themed amusement park with android "hosts", who are programmed to fulfill different narrative subplots for guests. Obviously the hosts start malfunctioning and crisis ensues. The show seems like it'll be dealing with some neat artificial intelligence/memory/trauma issues. And the hosts are spooky. I would definitely recommend it.

I watched it last night. I agree on all counts. Can't wait for the next episode. I was surprised to see Ed Harris in it. What's different with the movie is that the bad people are the guests. It seems like a perfect place for psychos to go to and do whatever they please (rape, murder, etc) and it's perfectly okay, it seems.

Frequency

I watched the pilot episode last night and it was very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the movie which starred Dennis Quaid a few years ago. Which is why i didn't think i'd like the tv series version. For some reason, it reminded me of the other new series which i enjoyed the other night (Timeless) because of a twist at the end of the episode.

By the way, i watched the second and third episodes of 'Pitch!' last night and it was my favorite episode of the three. Not only is the girl hot as hell, but i'd go as far as saying it's must-see tv for baseball fans like myself.

So as of now, i'm into five new tv shows: Timeless, Pitch!, Frequency, Designated Survivor and Westworld. Some of them will likely not make it to a second season. Some may even be cancelled after a few episodes. If i had to chose two among those, i'd say that 'Designated Survivor' and 'Westworld' will likely be renewed for another season.

I saw the original Westworld with Yul Brynner and really enjoyed it. At the moment I am watching season 2 of Better Call Saul and really enjoying it. As a matter of interest the character "Nacho" is played by Michael Mando who was born in Quebec City and graduated from Montreal's Dawson College in 2007. Nacho is one of the more thoughtful thugs on the show and Mando does a really good job portraying him. It's also amazing that Michael McKean, almost 40 years after playing Lenny on Laverne and Shirley, is still playing quirky characters, this time as Chuck McGill, Jimmy's older brother who suffers from electromagnetic hypersensivity, a psychosomatic illness.

I just checked the availability of the original Westworld on Netflix and it says, "very long wait". Obviously the new TV series has stimulated interest in the movie and probably the Michael Crichton book as well.

Really?? I didn't know this. In the last episode, a bottle of champagne was delivered to her in the clubhouse and it was supposedly from Drake, who was also inviting her to one of his parties.

I agree. I really enjoyed this miniseries. I wonder when they'll show it again? Any idea if they'll come out with another season of True Detective? I found the first one to be great, the second one so-so and maybe too Twin Peakish.

I missed a few min of a few eps so I'd like to see it again, also to explore some theories I've read about how the cats experience mirrored Nasir's. Stone saved the cat, but it wasn't free etc.... And how the skin condition correlated. In other words I missed the underneath layers.
True detective? I have no clue. I like the 1st season better but I'd watch a new one.

i watched 6 episodes and love this show supposed to be a total of 8 in the 1st season

3 of the best ever series

Banshee is literally the best show under the radar, if ppl can take the violence and graphic nudity (not that merb members would mind, but just a PSA there).

No. And poor Abraham took one (or many) for the team. This was the darkest and gloomiest episode ever for that series.
