No, and it's annoying since I keep on forgetting and clicking on it anyway!Yes or no, simple enough? Maybe Fred Zed and his tech guys will belive us then...
I have a feeling that Fred doesn't really understand what we're talking about. When you open a multipage thread like this one, there's a link to the last page. That link works fine. What doesn't work is the small link next to the name of the last poster in the thread under the 'last post' column. I really doubt that it works for anyone and I just think that Fred and his techs aren't looking in the right place.
Example:
Techman, hope you don't mind me quoting your post in the poll thread.
whoa, i never knew it existed. now that i know where it is i tried it... it works.See the image linked below. That's the "last post" everybody's talking about.
What works? Does it bring you directly to the last post or does it just bring you to the 1st page of the thread?whoa, i never knew it existed. now that i know where it is i tried it... it works.
using firefox v3.5.3
i have my thread options set to 'newest first'...
user cp | edit options | thread display options | linear - newest first | save changes
I have to agree with Mod 11. While changing your sort order seems to solve the problem, it really doesn't. It still brings you to the first page of the thread which because of your sort order just happens to show the last post. It's no more a fix than my old tip to correct the board clock by changing your time zone. It has the desired effect but the board still has a problem. Most people have things configured to show newest posts last because that is the software default and for anyone who goes on different forums it's a pain in the butt to have to set things differently for this one only.
