Techman, hope you don't mind me quoting your post in the poll thread.

I have a feeling that Fred doesn't really understand what we're talking about. When you open a multipage thread like this one, there's a link to the last page. That link works fine. What doesn't work is the small link next to the name of the last poster in the thread under the 'last post' column. I really doubt that it works for anyone and I just think that Fred and his techs aren't looking in the right place.

I don't mind at all. You can quote me anytime! :)

SK, are you sure of that? I've tried it on my laptop running Windows 7 using ie8, and FF 3.5.3 and it doesn't work. I've also tested it on my main system, same OS, same browsers and it doesn't work. Here on my office system it doesn't work with either browser and I tested at a friend's place on a Win XP box with the same results. I've even tested it on my USB flash drive running an older FF under Portable Apps and it doesn't work. I actually don't see how it can be working on anyone's system.

Are you sure you aren't clicking on the link at the beginning of the thread which takes you to the first unread post instead of the last post link beside the last poster's handle in the last post column?

In that case it doesn't work for you either and chances are good that the others who voted yes are set up the same way.

Works now

Changed my display options to display newest message first and now the function works with FF 3.5.3 and IE 8.0.6001.18813 running Windows Vista x86 Ultimate Edition.

This did not work before changing display option

Same Display options as Johnmbot.

Rocky :)

I have to agree with Mod 11. While changing your sort order seems to solve the problem, it really doesn't. It still brings you to the first page of the thread which because of your sort order just happens to show the last post. It's no more a fix than my old tip to correct the board clock by changing your time zone. It has the desired effect but the board still has a problem. Most people have things configured to show newest posts last because that is the software default and for anyone who goes on different forums it's a pain in the butt to have to set things differently for this one only.

Sorry Guys and Gals. I jumped the gun. My solution is nothing but a work around, as stated by both Mod11 and Techman. I don't like the effects of changing the sort order, so I am changing it back to the default value.

Confirmation that it does not work after having set options back to default

Hello all,

I confirm that the function does not work after having set options back to default. Also tested with Opera Version 10 build 1750 and doesn't work with that one either.

Rocky
