Digital anonymity illusion !

Little story that might make ou want to thin twice about certain things.

I was looking into booking a few hours with a SP that advertises here, as well as LL and EI sometimes. She’s an indy with a flawless rep and was looking forward to it. Unfortunately the day before, a close friend was rushed in to the hospital and might not have long to live. So I cancelled the appointment and went to spend time with him and his family (he has a wife and 3 youg kids, 9, 12, 15), as we have been best friends for over 15 years.

I always use a VPN and I have a Text Me phone for my SP activities.

Well I open a social media, and guess what: They suggest I become friends with the SP. She does not have a private profile (or it is not entirely limited).

I had access to her full real name, the general are where she lives, and even things like friends and family and much more.

That is despite the fact that I tried as much as possible to remain anonymous, and I knew and searched nothing about her before seeing her ad.

Now obviously I am not a creep and won’t pursue to sneak anything else. That’s not my thing. But I do suggest that everyone should take extra steps to remain anonymous. Because if a social media was able to do the links that quickly and accurately, there really is no saying as to where it could go if it fell in the wrong hands,.

We already know the US government is deciding and asking personal informations from all sorts of agencies, oublic records, and private records.

The future is here, and it is not particularly looking good

Depending on the app if you don't choose "browse in private mode", in settings, then it is not private. Most apps have privacy settings, it is up to the user to use them.

You probably gave Facebook and also Text me permissions to access apps and informations that you didn't know of. VPNs hide your IP but not your activity which is store locally hence you need to use a private browser.

Anyway, I suspect there's more you are not saying because really, I use my real number and never had those friends suggestions

When I was younger, I remember going to see an incall SP. She was receiving at her real appartment. It was the type of place where you had to be buzzed to get in. Has I was pressing the pressing the button to be allowed in, I saw her full name on her mail box. I remember thinking that if you are too have customer at your real home, at least don't put a sticker with your real full name at the entrance.

Anither time, I remember seing some SP posting their pictures on their ad. While they took the time to either cropped out or blurred their faces, they forgot to remove those necklace that showed their name.

These are not as drastic as having their full social media page, but still, some people need forget those little details.

Thats what I said! You can choose these permissions and you can opt out of them or browse in private mode.

Many apps do contact syncing by default. That includes phone and emails.

Also. vpn can only change the apparent location of your internet connection. And isn’t 100% bulletproof.

Sites can use way more identifiable markers to identify your device (ex html5canvas). Some dns calls and even ipv6 can leak too.

But using apps on your phone is what can leak the most. Even the IMEI, GPS etc. So your real IPv4 and IPv6 can still leak.

Do you have personal social apps on the same phone? Especially META? or gmail? even google home?

she’s probably using something like true caller anyways (to help detect fake phones). if she also has meta products installed that means your contact was uploaded and Meta connected the dots.

If she’s as popular as you say, then you’re going to see a lot of her friends pop up in your suggestions.

It only takes one of the two to have lax security to break the chain.

Also. that also means you’re getting advertised.


Edit: Incognito only stops stuff from being stored on your device (ex: browser history, cookies). But it changes nothing as to what is stored on the site and service you're using. Even clearing your cookies doesn't always work. The more aggressive data brokers have ways (ex: supercookies), to make sure you can always be identified. Those guys are the ones selling your data and use every way possible to keep their data accurate.

Wanna be secure ? Use a seperate device. Don't use the same carrier, never connect it to the same wifi and don't keep it in frequent proximity with your day2day device. Create seperate socials and never view your alternate profiles from your main devices.

In the "land of the free," the PayPal mafia & minions are running things.

It's not much of an exagertion to suggest they might easily know what porn you watched last Tuesday, or who you associate with online, what topics you focus on, and whether or not you're an active or soon-to-be "threat" (ie. Pre-crime).

And they'll probably soon have AI score your level of "concern" on a running basis, if that's not happening already.

It's not about Trump, as framed in the news story above, but another step in the fusion of oligarchy, big government, and AI—packaged as patriotism & security. Not just about developing tools; it's about constructing the framework for a digital system that will enable authoritarian control.

I've gotten friends suggestions on a lot of the women I've seen (professionally or online dating)...

Likely because of my gps/location tracking, to and from their location, and then the contact to their cell # from my device etc... It makes sense to me. I've even had one DM me afterwards, and we saw each other for a while.

It's definitely something to consider if you're trying to stay completely anonymous, but I'm in an open marriage, so I'm not making any particular effort to remain hidden either. I also don't ever do anything that I would regret going public, so, yeah....

Im a normal person. They are normal women doing a job.

What is not normal is the ...how can i say that politely.... Anyway those guys that try to out them to their famillies or such.

Arrrg these guys !! They annoy me so much cause not only they break the trust of this business but they ruin trust in providers toward us clients.

Its often done in bitterness too. These "clients" make me sick !
