I know im gonna surprise a lot of peoples here but i ended up getting the first shot of the vaccine. I may make a full video on this cause i think its worth it, but to put it in text here is the thing.
At 1500-2000 infections a day, while being mostly a solitary person with very little interactions, i never felt it i needed it. I could had got it sure, but the % of chances was not that high. I also taught eventually when majority of peoples would get vaccinated or catched it, the virus would slow down a lot and infections would go very low even during winter.
But surprisingly not only the immunity of an infection seem to be super short (less than 2 months for some), but we are talking 65 000 estimate new cases a day. We are kinda to a point where EVERYBODY will get Covid at some point. Its not a matter of IF, but WHEN. I always said i could never actually catch Covid, wich was true back then, but with the BA.2 or whatever its call, the Omicron 2.0, it seem to spread so much, and i seen TONS of peoples around me get infected, it started during hollidays, then i taught it was the lask spike and it would go down at least til fall, but hell even in spring it rise up like crazy.
To be totally honest i know more peoples that got it now than who didn't... Even peoples who were overall very carefull.
So i had 3 choices. Either i feared the virus and stayed home alone for another year, or i start living my life like normal and would surely catch it, and cross finger, or i get vaccinated.
I chose the third option, but on MY TERMS. I am still as against vax pass as i was, and pro-choice as i was. You see, its clear now the vaccine only gives you better chances to do the disease in its lighter form (some headache, feeling out of energy a bit) and DO NOT stop spread. If it did, the cases wouldn't be off the roof like they are now. I choice to take it because i taught AT THIS POINT it was better odds for me to take it than not. Maybe i would had gotten Covid and have nothing... even without vaccine. Or maybe im gotta get it and die despite vaccines (or get very sick), we can't know, but i took the decision to take the vaccine FOR ME. Im still nervous there could be long term effects, and im still fearfull of my 2nd (and probably 3rd) shots that could give me immediate side effects. BUT the first one was alright, had nothing, just felt like i received a "bean" on the arm the next day but it didn't hurt much and was like that only 1 day. Nothing else.
I chose to get Pfizer (and would had turn around if they didn't had it) and specifically said to the person there i want 3 Prizers, nothing else, as i heard Moderna has more side effects from peoples who got it.
Anyway. As i said at the start of the post, i did it for me because this summer i want to go see a show and go in a bar. Im likely gonna get it at some point if i do this, so better make sure to put the odds in my favors. Not because of a stupid vax pass, but because now i legitely feared getting it. And this is how vaccination should be. Not being forced on anyone, peoples are adults, they should make their own decisions.
If they bring back the vax pass, honestly ill still boycott it. NO WAY im gonna show papers to go see a movie, or eat in a restaurant. The only potentiel exeptions i could do is a music show because i got to buy tickets in advance and i buy them with my credit card, so there is already a trace of where i am gonna be electronically lol. But i will oppose to this electronic surveillance tool as long as it will be talk, i will still vote Duhaime, i am still SOO AGAINST Legault and mad at the other parties who "dormis au gaz" when Legault was doing whatever he wanted.
I wanted to type all of this and explain it because a lot of you probably think everybody that is against the vax pass or the crazy restrictions is "an anti-vax". Well i always said i could decide to get vaccinated when i feel i need to, and i felt it was the time. Not because of a crazy governement and absurde laws/rules, but because of my OWN JUDGEMENT.
