Four patients treated in the oncology unit of CHUS Hôpital Fleurimont in Sherbrooke have died since May 20, not of cancer, but of COVID-19.

Healthcare workers could be the cause of the outbreak, which affected 16 patients and 7 employees.
Five of them were not vaccinated, according to the head of the hematology-oncology service of the CHUS, Dr Michel Pavic.

After 4 days now...absolutly NO SIDE EFFECT....am feeling soooo good about it.....many told me they had more déplaisant side effects after the second dose.....pas sans mon cas....so will enjoy summer a lot believe me .

I don`t mind side effects....they mean that I`m building anti-bodies and the vax is working.
I got a sore arm for a day but it was much less painful then when my ATF bit my arms and chest black and blue.

The side effects is not what concerns me what concerns me the most is the cases of anaphylactic shock which is life threathening and very serious it can send you to the ICU with tracheal intubation. Very scary stuff. The worst part is they got no idea what in the vaccine is causing these severe reactions and it happens more to younger people. Older people suffer much less reactions and side effects.

I am not too sure about that... I am divided on the issue. I rather wait a bit till there is more data on anaphylactic shock.

You have a right to have concerns about this stuff. The vaccines have only been approved for emergency use, so there's plenty that we don't know. Waiting until you get vaccinated, or not, is something you and you alone will decide. Personally, when I had the opportunity to get vaccinated back in February I jumped all over it. Not because I trusted the science, the media, or the politicians, I trusted my gut and wanted to finally be free of the fear of dying. That's exactly what I got from my vaccination and I have never looked back or regretted my decision. Nor should you.

600k deaths in the US is an accurate count. But, by the time the US really started rolling out the vaccines in January and February there were already 400,000 dead. Now as less people are dying from Covid in the states and as the US get's closer to magic 70% one shot vaccinated number more people are going to reevaluate if they want to get a vaccine at all. Plenty of people from all walks of life that are anti vaccer's and they should be able to chose their own path out of this pandemic.

The problem is that those people not willing to be vaccinated put at risk a lot of people. Remember the protection for fully vaccinated people is around 90%, not 100%, and we don't know if any variant will lower this.

At least 174,674,144 people or 53% of the population have received at least one dose.

Overall, 145,768,367 people or 44% of the population have been fully vaccinated.

With roughly 33% of Americans hesitating or not wanting the vaccination, it's hard to share your optimism to the magic 75%. Even if you lower it to 70%, the road is still long to go. Deaths are on a plateau, not really going down and organizing lottery, giving hotdogs don't do much to convince people on something being still a political issue rather than an health issue. Too many leaders, as Ron de Santis in Florida forbidding mandatory vaccination proof to get access to a cruise ship. I truly hope USA will get to this 75% fully vaccinated but the sooner will be the better and I can't see it in a near future even if this country has a huge production capability.

Les États-Unis viennent de franchir le cap des 600 000 morts. Et même si les Américains sont plus vaccinés que nous, ils continuent à déplorer 345 décès par jour. Proportionnellement, c’est deux fois et demie le taux de mortalité actuel du Québec !

Translation: And even though Americans are more vaccinated than we are, they still suffer 345 deaths a day. Proportionately, this is two and a half times the current death rate in Quebec!
