Connecticut Governor Lamont has stopped short of a lockdown that will cripple small businesses, but yesterday announced a $10,000 fine for businesses not in compliance with State Covid rules:

This is a case of the few bad apples spoiling things for everyone else. This is what always happens and you can't stop the bad apples or totally root them out. There have been a few highly publicized episodes of Covid noncompliance in CT, including by an underground club in the New Haven area which had 500 maskless persons in its parking lot watching a fistfight between 2 customers. It took local police 30 minutes to disburse the crowd. This kind of nonsense causes super spread clusters that can whip through a community.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has signed an executive order increasing the amount that businesses can be fined for violations of the state’s COVID-19 sector rules and capacity limits to $10,000 per violation.
